that's funny! I think it made me addicted to ramen noodles. Maybe I should go to rehab for that.

You are correct Duckie. Thanks red. Now for vc. Let's see if I can touch on the obvious. First I have know idea how being out of school until at least January will affect the situation. Can any of you guys she'd light on that? Second, don't early enrolled start in January to be on team for spring ball? Third, signing day in February. Fourth, I'm guessing the earliest possible date that TM can ask to be reinstated to team is August 10 2013. With all of that, how does LSU not advise him to move on. A spot would have to be assured to TM and he would have to be able to assure LSU that he will be ready. Red has been spot on. VC is correct in assuming LSU would rather that the situation go away. He is also spot on tha LSU is being very careful.

yep my source was wrong but it was not b/c of him not having good info. TM7 did in fact strongly consider Mcneese, however, it would have not fixed the problem he is having. Now he is in rehab and will roll the dice on being allowed to stay clean and re-enroll and play for LSU at a later date. I for one cannot blame him Mcneese would have not helped him as much as getting healthy mentally and preparing for 2013 wherever he may land. The way I see it he was given 2 options and both pointed to a rehabilitation program before he can play again. Good move on his parents part. I eat my crow and will not post here for a while and stick to the outdoor board. Geaux Tigers

I do know that the NCAA rule per eligibility back in 2006 was an athlete must pass 6 hours a semester to stay eligible and I think 24 for the year. Not 100% on the numbers, but there was a minimum to pass per semester and a total for the year. Therefore there is some opportunity to make up a bad fall semester, in the spring or summer, but there is also a minimum requirement to even have that shot. To my understanding it's NFL or bust if he passes 0 hours this semester. The only loophole I can think of is the 0 hrs makes him ineligible for spring, but of he gets to 24 (again not 100% on the actual #) by next fall he could be reinstated per NCAA eligibility rules.

Sounds like he is going to resume classes in the spring (January) and rejoin the team in the fall. If he did that, it would work.

He will get 24 starting in new year with reinstatement.........it isn't a loophole, its the rule.

You're a 40 year old who spends his time flaming the SEC rant. You came out with your "inside info" you got directly from Guilbeau's and Kleinpeter's articles. Then you claimed your close to the situation, all the while trolling "kids" because you claim to have a master's from Tulane, own a consulting firm, and live in a mansion. Yet you type like a dame 16 year old.
I smell shite.

A whole lot of people who know nothing about addiction posting information that they believe are facts on this board. Just because you did something and never got addicted, does not mean it is impossible to be addicted to something. Addiction is the compulsion to do something that makes your life unmanageable. If you cannot stop on your own, you seek treatment if you want help, period. It is as simple as that. Gambling is a mental obsession not a physical addiction (just like marijuana), do you think treatment cannot help that addiction? Yes, it can and does, just like treatment for marijuana can and does help people. I see it all the time. Does everyone NEED treatment for marijuana? No. Do some people need treatment for it? Yes, and it works for them in cases.
