My wife, Heather. Our first date was LSU-Tennessee 2000. She made me leave early and LSU won in overtime and the fans stormed the field. I never let her live that one down. She had family in Arkansas and we attended every game at War Memorial in Little Rock. She held my hand as we left the stadium after the "Miracle on Markham" as we were heckled by the Arkansas fans. She always sat next to me on the couch during every LSU game as I screamed at the TV asking obscure questions that had nothing to do with the game.
She died on October 7th, 2011 of liver failure at the ripe old age of 35. She was my best friend and loved LSU because I did. Football doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things but I do hope LSU kicks Alabama's arse. I know at least one person will be rooting the tigers on from heaven.
Horrifically sad and I don't have enough tissues. Dude..................God Bless you.

Like many of us, we have come to understand your loss. I am so sorry to hear this about your father. I lost my mother in 2000 and as I said in my earlier post, No one understands what it's like to lose a parent unless they have experienced it themself. You and your family will be in our thoughts and prayers. I trust we will win this battle in your dad's honor. God bless you and your family.

whodatdude, how are keldar's wife and kids doing? I think of them now and again and hope that they're well.
Well, they live up on the east coast so we don't have regular contact with them but the last I heard, they were doing about as well as can be expected. Obviously they miss him tremendously, as does my family. His wife took down his Facebook earlier this year so I'm unable to go back and re-visit some of the posts and comments that we would go back and forth on. But I'll always remember his passion for LSU, especially on gameday. But I know he will be jumping and shouting with God on Saturday for LSU!

My Mom passed away last February. Attended LSU (as did I) and was a great fan. Picture above the mantle is of the LSU Band coming down the hill. Needlepointed me tiger portait in P & G. My brother and sister and I miss her.

My step dad Bob, and uncles Buba and Louis We would lay around and listen to John Fergeson call the games. There was allways much cussing and screaming.
Sid Crocker, the real voice of Tiger stadium.
And most of all BIG RED the cheering machine, the loudest tiger fan ever.
You see players point to the the sky, well every time I went out to kick a pat or field goal thats who I was pointing to cause it was those memories that gave me my drive and joy for football and dream of playing for the Tigers.

After reading the article by Wright Thompson about Miles (stickied at the top of the front page if you haven't seen it), I would like to add Bubba Miles (his dad) to the list...I have a feeling if he were still around, he would have become a huge Tiger fan as well.

Great article and I totally agree.

My great-grandparents. My great-grandfather was on the team that played in the first game at tiger stadium. He and his old football buddies would "get into the whiskey" and run football plays in the den at their camp.
My great-grandmother would go to the game dressed to the nines. She would leave at halftime to check on the children back at the hotel where they were with some "employees of the family." She snuck bourbon into every game. In the early 90's my father, who is a big Aggie, gave her a shirt with a huge A&M logo across the chest and an LSU logo on the lower back side. When she went to change she had it on backwards with the LSU on the front and giving a thumbs down. At her funeral, when my dad spoke, he told everyone that she had gone to a place where there is plenty of Bourbon, friends, and the Tigers always win.
It was not long after that I decided I wanted to go to LSU.

I called Momma Rouge right after the game, and she was crying. I'm sure it was quite the bittersweet showing of emotion.
It was a touching moment during such a happy time.
Cheers to all of those who had a happy recollection this weekend!

I shed a few tears after the game was over in honor of my dad...I know he would have loved every second of it and would have been yelling at the TV as if the Tigers success depended on it
I don't get too hokey or sentimental over things like this, but damned if it doesn't feel like he is upstairs somewhere helping guide the magical season we are having right now.
