Miles may be an idiot but he has the LSU program by the financial balls. Not sure what can be done about him even if he tanks next year.

I've taken up for Miles since he got here, and supported him unconditionally. But to be honest with you, at this point, I don't care if he stays or goes. This year has disgusted me. It's not the record, it's the performance of the team. The lack of discipline (no excuse for the stupid penalties this late in the season), the inability to move the ball, hell the inability to get into any kind of rhythm offensively, the play calling, everything.
Im not saying LSU is the most talented team in the country but, they're talented enough to move the ball on the teams we play. We couldn't move the ball consistantly against UL or La Tech, and that, is totally unacceptable. Im sick of it.

With all due respect to that lunatic he never will be. JJ is great kid and model player but you can tell something about the great ones. I'm not saying he doesn't have moxie but great? I don't think so
I said something similar but you probably said it better! JJ to me belongs at WR or play as a DB, but I think he is too afraid of regular contact to play there. Look at the blows that Drew Brees takes as a 6'0" - 205# QB as a pro. And by much meaner and tougher D. players week in and week out. Does he quit? NO... I realy don't want to hear any excuses or that other issue concerning this matter. It is a mans game at this level and gets manlyer (is there such a word)

The kid is definitely a QB and will be good one if the right people are surrounding the kid during spring and summer camps. There just doesn't seem to be anybody on this staff that knows how to tutor someone from the ground up.
Running the option, Pistol, or any of the other loony plays/formations we've seen this year is not helping the kid's development.
I'm not sure if the kid is built for the spread. It requires making multiple reads in less than 5 seconds on average. Yes he is fast but I'm not sure if he wouldn't fair better in a Pro-style offense. I think there is more that goes into fielding a "spread" then just being fast, so far, I'm not seeing it from the kid. God bless him though.

Until we are committed enough to winning to whack a prominent booster and contributor to LSU we won't compete with Bama.
Who might this be?

here is why saban was successful at lsu and successful at bama...he puts the process of being prepared over winning. he constantly hammers that winning will take care of itself if you prepare. the 2003 lsu nc team was prepared...u could tell it as soon as they stepped on the field. they took care of business on and off the field.
i love this quote: there are two pains in life: the pain of discipline and the pain of disappointment. if you handle the pain of discipline you will never experience the pain of disappointment. Coach Saban.

That & the intensity are I think the key ingredients. I think Miles is intense in his own way (probably more so behind closed doors with his players, who seem loyal to him). But, one comment he has made repeatedly has troubled me. He has said when asked that they were 1 or 2 plays from beating Florida & Bama. This may be true, but he's also 1 or 2 plays from having some pretty big losses, including to La Tech. Its almost like he takes the attitude of "good enough." The pattern of "thrilling" wins was nice, but what it shows to me is a lack of an edge in the program where if 1 or 2 things fall the other way, you have what happened Saturday happen. If LSU is going to truly be a contender nationally & in the SEC, this patter has to be changed. Other than the Va. Tech game in 2007 or the Bowls, I have not seen a really well prepared Miles team in REGULAR Season play.
