They are setting the playoffs up to ensure there is no SEC final

Make the 2 sec teams 2-3 and make one of them lose. They don't want to see two SEC championship games. I think bama gets in with a loss vs us, but we don't get in with a loss against them. Just like any other year LSU could beat 7 top 10 teams and be left out with a bama loss. It is what it is

Yep. If we lose on Saturday, we are out, barring complete chaos down the stretch. Bama will pass the "eye test" if they lose, but we won't. The committee is obviously trying to prop up the PAC XII by ranking Utah and Oregon so high.

LSU hasn’t ended a season with one loss since 2003 and they made the championship. The story would probably be different, if they didn’t lose to inferior teams at the end of the season.
