Pretty rich that you guys talk about the luck involved in going to and winning the NCG after your 2007 season. There is luck involved in just about every championship run. Suggesting luck was involved diminishes nothing. It's a necessary ingredient to a title run. 2011, while obviously unfortunate for you guys, happened exactly as it should, and I'm sure what irks you the most is knowing that any other team you would have been matched up against in that game would have been a mismatch much like Alabama and Notre Dame this past season, which is an implicit acknowledgement that the correct match-up was made. That season made it abundantly clear why a playoff was needed. Given the incredible talent of both teams in 2011, there is no reason either team should have been eliminated from title contention because they happened to play each other in the regular season, particularly after the first game they played.

You mean we should have to beat you guys twice while you have to beat us once?
In 07 we had to beat the Vols in the SECCG to get a shot at the BCSCG. Who did you have to beat in the 2011 SECCG to get a shot at the BCSC?
Hey, congrats to you on the great Bama run, but the advantage in 2011 was alllllll to Bama and if you are reasonable, you should be able to see that fact.

Man would you guys just stop pumping them and being obsessed with them. Until Miles steps up again and beats them LSU will have to deal with the media bull shite. Last year he and LSU took a step back by showing a inept offense to the college football world. Until LSU proves different they are the team to beat.

I don't refute that one bit. Lets say for the sake of argument that the playoff system was in place in 2011. Would the result have been any different? You guys play in the SECCG and beat Georgia, and inevitably both teams still meet in the final playoff game, LSU still having played an extra game. Lets not forget that you got a conference championship trophy for that game, so it's a little more substantial than simply an extra game. That trophy is a piece of hardware missing from Alabama's title season. Rematches happen all the time in other playoff sports. Since we don't have game series like baseball, the key is winning the game that matters the most.
The potential real tragedy from that season was averted, which was the thought of a championship quality team like Alabama sitting home while LSU curb stomped a much inferior team in OSU, simply because it wasn't deemed fair for LSU to play Alabama again.

While I have no problem admitting that you guys are the finest college program around at this time, I would not have seen a LSU vs. OSU as a tragedy for college football just cause Bama would have been left out.
I would have said, as I think lots of fans across the country said, Bama had their shot and it was at Bama.
Nevertheless, to the victor goes the spoils...congrats.
