What about Burrow holding the ball forever?

Yes, it is the WRs. They can't get open. Even when Burrow had time he couldn't find an open target. Plus, it's the scheme. Plays take too long to develop.
Orgeron took the safe choice in picking someone with whom he was "comfortable".
It will likely cost him his job and set LSU back a few more years. The LSU brand of offense remains the same: boring, predictable and ineffective.

Exactly.

The untrained eye finds it easy to just blame the oline.

I agree, I think coaches wanna run more wr & te’s but the online sucks and they just don’t feel confident that joe won’t die.

Coaches should have been able to see that this oline ain’t good and should have been able to fix it in offseason. So no excuse. I just think they are trying to win but protect the qb.

So unfortunately it looks like a miles offense now, bc we are only sending 1 or 2 wr’s out for passes.

I’m hoping they threw together a game plan this week, and got a early start in Auburn. Bc last night was not good.

It's funny how film makes people look unstoppable. I saw both his and Damien Lewis Hudl highlights and thought they would be awesome additions to LSU's OLine, but they both have been getting beat like drums. Lmao

We haven't done screens well at LSU for years. When executed, they work.

Also, releasing a back after a chip block is usually an easy play and very effective.

There were maybe 3-4 plays where the OL didn’t legitimately hold up. One was on a blitz up the middle. Pass pro wasn’t bad. It was the WR & QB tonight not getting open & holding the ball

I completely agree there were times the Oline didn't hold up but there were numerous times burrow had all day to throw and none of the receivers could get separation! He held the ball 4 seconds a couple of times scanning the field going through his progressions and nobody was open. I'm worried about the receivers! As talented as they are! Also starting to think Chase should have been givin #7 haven't seen anything out of Giles to warrant #7 in the les Miles era there wasn't necessarily a #7 every year only when somebody is special and deserved it

You can utilize a system that compensates for poor OL play.

No, you can’t. Games are won in the trenches. An inferior team that throws the ball well against a traditional power is at least pass protecting well. You have to have good line play to move the ball on offenses. It says so in the bible.
