You sure you remember the sec with 9? I've been a huge LSU fan since 1977 and there were 10 teams, then 12, and now 14.

Who am I leaving out? USCar was in the ACC, so I undercounted the ACC. I forgot UK. Forgot they played football, not just basketball.

I thought that might be the reaction. Awful how both sides have politicized this pandemic and now college football. It’s not a political article, however. You are free to read what you want.

Let me ask these questions, because they cut to the chase. I doubt anyone answers. What is the acceptable number of cases on the LSU football team and staff? How many are too many?

Ohio State is looking foolish? The coaches, players, and parents want to play football. That makes you look foolish.

They are in the bargaining phase. You are in the denial phase.

They are not in the bargaining phase dude. Interesting spin. They are in the walking it back phase. They jumped the gun and cancelled their season stupidly thinking the SEC would follow. Now they are trying to save face and reverse their bad decision. Ohio State will lose recruits over this. This was a very foolish mistake by Ohio State.

Why is everyone enamored with “cases”? People under 24 are barely even impacted by having a “case” and virtually nothing serious at all. And players can opt out. The reason so few opt out is because they know the odds are better to be struck by lightening than be harmed by Covid. The president's new advisor on COVID 19 said the unintended consequences Of “stop the virus at all costs’ mentality far out way the COVID virus for under 24’s. It’s huge over reaction but the usual suspects. Let’s play ball.

You are exactly correct TigerBooty. The emphasis on “new cases of those who test positive” is a distraction from the real issue. How deadly is this virus to college athletes? How many have died? The answer is zero.

99.7% who test positive recover completely and over 80% of those have no symptoms at all.

Let’s play ball!!!!!!

I truly feel sorry for the sheeple who believe we are reacting appropriately to this virus. Even if you are elderly, you have a Larry Bird ft attempt's chance of surviving. A handful of football players across the country die from heat stroke, sickle cell etc.. I haven't heard about any confirmed covid deaths to football players.

I've read 3 different stories about people who have survived the 1918 flu, and the covid. I read another story about 2 sisters aged 106 and 109 who recovered from both. There has even been a documented recovery from a 113 year old. Stevie Wonder can see the reaction is all political bs. Wake the fLuck up, people.

I was very concerned about recruiting as well. So far, the class is holding together fine. Adeleye was expected to decommit. A lot of these kids have already had their senior seasons canceled and aren’t decommitting, but opting to enroll early. Time will tell. It’s early, and still early for LSU and the SEC.

Football is hugely important to Ohio State, but the Big Ten is more important. The athletics program is always top 3 in annual revenue and only one of five college athletic programs valued at over a billion. Generated $250 million last year. Football brought in $57 million of that.

Ohio State will not risk leaving the Big Ten to play a game. Big Ten is more than a 28 sport athletic conference. The Big Ten Academic Alliance and Cancer Research Consortium generates over $1 billion in revenue every year for Ohio State. Football has a seat on the bus, but at Ohio State research drives the bus.

If the three conferences hold firm, and play the season, with fewer Covid cases than other students, I suspect the Big 10 Commissioner will be looking for another career.

As much as I love college football, this season will have no meaning or purpose. I think they will try to play some sort of season, but it will be interrupted by game cancellations and forfeitures. Until we get a vaccine, it just may not be worth the effort.
