LSU Tigers coach Trent Johnson's plan was to move Tasmin Mitchell to his more natural small forward position to enhance his blossoming perimeter skills -- if he decided to withdraw from the NBA draft.
Sunday, he did.
The fourth-year junior forward told ESPN.com Sunday night that he would withdraw from the draft and return for his senior season.
"I'm going back to school," Mitchell said. "I'll take care of [the paperwork with the NBA] Monday."
The deadline to withdraw is June 15 for the draft on June 25.
"I want to come back to school to better myself at the 3 position," Mitchell said. "It can't hurt me. I'm going to put this team on my back and win some ballgames."

his own words, so that's pretty official.

Not Germans, but French.
Great news for the squad next year.

Happy Tasmin had the opportunity for the experience. He will better his chances for the NBA and also help LSU win games. Most importantly, Tasmin will graduate!

When did Tasmin start spelling his name with a z? I feel like we don't even know him anymore.

I'm glad too he got to work out for some scouts and see for himself what the NBA could be.
He's smart to come back to get his degree. Good for him...and the team

Nailed it.
Graduating student/athletes is LSU's #1 priority. Teams that have 4-5yr program kids have a much better chance to win division, conference and post season awards and championships. Natural ability and opportunity are maximised by the knowledge gained by students who complete their undergrad discipline. Just ask Dean Smith or coach 'K' how important it is to have upperclassmen on a team.
