i admit we had a tough year...but why should we worry about coach miles??

Here's the general reasons to worry (you asked the question, so I'm going to answer, and for anyone who's going to call me a negatiger for answering his questions, frick off):

1. We went 8-5 with, top to bottom, the 2nd most talented team in the SEC. It's not that we lost, it's how we lost. We were completely unprepared and were flat out shown up by lesser teams and coaches.

2. He showed that his interests at times lie in personal relationships. He isn't cut-throat enough to make a tough decision in regard to his friends. His faithfulness to his staff is both a great thing and a curse. It's a great example of how to maintain relationships with peers in the coaching ranks, but it can also cost you an entire season.

3. He almost messed up a national championship last year, when we were by far a better team than anyone we played. Yes, it's the SEC, and that's why one loss is no problem, but he had TWO shots to be #1, and lost it both times. Any other year, we're playing in the Sugar Bowl, and for those of you bashing Nick Saban, he finished with the same record this year as our "damn strong coach" did in his banner year at LSU. There's no need to bash Nick to justify Les, especially when the bashing comes from such a poor angle.

Just saying. I think Les is the 3rd best coach in the SEC right now, so I don't think he's a bum or anything. I don't necessarily believe he's in the top five as far as coaching ability, but he may be in the top five as far as coaching ability and resources surroundings goes (team, coaches, facilities, etc.)

thats is all, have a great day.

This phrase needs to die already. Can we come up with some fricking catch phrases that aren't so played out?

Miles is great! He took over from Saban and has continued the improve the football program.

With Miles at the helm, we have a BCS Championship, three top-5 national finishes, a perfect post season bowl record, and a top-5 recruiting program.

With the post-season coaching additions, Miles has LSU right where he wants the Tigers to be--locked and loaded.

Thank you Les!

What did you want him to do. Fire them in the middle of the season. We saw how well that worked out for Auburn. He has made the neccessary adjustments to the staff without looking like a complete dick like Tuberville. He made changes with class and let those coaches go out the honorable way.

+1. Very well said. Les let them find new jobs and move on without hanging them out to dry. That has to be respected in the coaching circles I'm sure.

i agree, this has to put him up there in the coaching circles as someone you would want to work for.

Not hire them in the first place? Basically all of LSU nation knew this would be a terrible decision, but he gave his friends a shot.
