1. Max wasn’t going to win us a national championship. He got benched twice this year and many fans will point the finger to him as to why we lost to AU and UA. Sophomore Nuss or Freshman Howard is better than Max.
2. Deion Smith would’ve turned out to be a good WR. I have zero doubts of that. We signed 4 other WR in the same class that I could argue will all turn out to be better than Smith. Can’t speak for Hilton because he didn’t play as much as the other 3 did but Bech, BTJ and Nabers all play with the intensity this program has lacked for two seasons.
3. Trust Brian Kelly. The dude has won every where he has been. There is no reason we shouldn’t trust him. Football program needed a culture change. Weed out the ones that don’t want to be here and go to frickin war with the ones that are dayum proud to be a Tiger. Enjoy the ride. We finally have a competent coach after 18 years of a grass eating moron and an under qualified shrimp boat captain.

I mean losing Max sucks a little for depth reasons, but he wasn't gonna start over Nussmeier or Walker Howard in the future, so this set of news isn't surprising. Players were gonna leave, and there are plenty of good players that want to be here and will come here if Brian Kelly approves.
This is most certainly not the end of the world and we'll be fine sooner rather than later.
