I tried. Suffered through last year, put it on the defensive staff.

But the excuses are running out.

I'm asking a legitimate question here. How are you guys who defend Miles standing behind him?

Les is acceptable because there are not many coaches out there who you know, 100% would do better.

Yes that's a huge risk.

e.g. Mark Richt gets more national respect than Miles, but has accomplished nothing. No way I'd make that trade. In fact there are only 2 coaches in the SEC who I would feel are safe bets to outperform Miles.

He's won 50 games in 5 years and that's never been done by any LSU coach in history.

It's never been done - it hasn't been pretty or smooth, but he's successful.

Don't support him if you so choose - but do it with your eyes open - there is no objective problem with the program right now, so you're opposed to him for some subjective reason, other than his performance as LSU's head football coach.

To be fair, LSU only recently began playing a 12 game regular season and the SEC CG has only been around 10 years.

Because Miles has proven that he can win the BCS Championship.

We were lucky to say the least, to get there, mostly due to bad coaching.

Because he can maintain an elite recruiting program.

I can agree with that. Except you don't. You started a thread about how our recruiting isn't as good as the best teams in the conference...

Because he has LSU football at the highest pinicle of success in history.

Yet quickly sliding down.

Because a coach needs two things to win conference and BCS championships: a lot of talent, and an experienced and talented QB. and when Miles and his coaching staff get those things, they win championships.

We didn't when we had JR and all that talent.

Because if we get another H.C., there is no guarantee it will be for the better.

And if we keep him there's no guarantee we'll actually improve and win another NC? That works both ways.

Miles has 50 wins in his time a LSU. Not to shabby if you ask me.

Yeah, I can't really argue with this.

Not saying I thing Les is the best coach out there, just saying there are some reasons I still have hope and try to stay positive. I really am not a fan of his game day coaching, making adjustments. He gets "out coached" often.

Being dead last in the SEC and ranked in the 100s in offense doesn't count?

How about doing that coming off a year where we were similar on defense?

Struggling against La. Tech doesn't count as "something to fix." It's called an abortion of coaching.

The X's and O's were not the problem this week. The kids didn't have their heart in it after getting shanked by the SEC game officials against Bama--but nice try NegaTiger.

Good points and I agree w/ OBUDan. But Miles is here to stay. That is a fact. We can only hope he keeps good coordinators and that a franchise type qb emerges.

You being serious?

You know I'm not a fly-off-the-handle type poster.

Just looking at this objectively, I really don't see how we are improving under Miles.

Maybe, but there is no excuse to losing the battle of the los against La Tech.

Oh and don't check the stats for that game. Not to good for LSU. Stats would make one believe Tech won.

And you think that's gonna change next week?

So we are a lock to finish 8-4 then by your logic.

Look, I understand the concept of a let down game. La. Tech is a perfect trap game.

But come on, at what point can you stop having excuses for repeated bad performances?

How bout Carroll or Tressel or Bowden or Paterno or any number of other coaches people slobber over who Les is currently ahead of this season and still getting no respect from our own damn fans?

YOU'RE CRYING YOUR EYES OUT AND SAYING frick LES WHILE WE HAVE TWO GAMES LEFT AND ARE NUMBER EIGHT IN THE COUNTRY????

Did you just start watching LSU in 2003 or something?

Grow up.

I think that's the most discouraging thing.

To see our 4 and 5 star "studs" getting pushed around on both sides. That was more embarrassing that anything Jarrett Lee did.
