It's super early but I'm curious as to what you guys think starting 5 is looking like.

LT - Teuhama (or LG)
LG - Clapp (or C)
C - Pocic (or LT)
RG - Brumfield
RT - Valentine-Okeke (or LT)

Reserves/possible starters include:

Toby Weathersby - RT
Josh Boutte - RG
KJ Malone - C/LT
George Brown - RT
Adrian Magee - RG/LG
Andy Dodd - C
Willie Allen - LT
Donavaughn Campbell - LG/RG
Jakori Savage - LT/RT
Lloyd Cushenberry - LG/RG/C

Overall I'm pretty stoked at the depth we have at O-line this year. The top 5 is my prediction of where I think we end up, feel free to make your predictions.

I don't think Weathersby will be kept out of the starting 5. Malone makes a hard push to

LT- Pocic (Gotta believe this was a huge selling point in bringing him back)

LG- Maea (Weathersby is a more natural tackle but Maea is a road grader and this will make his transition to LT smoother next year if Chidi isn't ready to take over)

C- Clapp (Clapp is versatile and smart enough to play any of the 5 positions on the line. Clapp is the most cerebral Olineman, he'll be the best at helping Brandon identify blitzes)

RG- Boutte (How quickly people forget how hyped he was by the coaching staff. Senior monster that is an All Conference talent if he's in better shape)

RT- Weathersby (He'll anchor the right side of the line for the next 2 years. Natural tackle with a meanstreak and a very natural bend ability)

ETA: I fully expect Brumfield to be on Josh's heels. If Josh fails again I don't think Miles hesitates to put in Garrett. Also Chidi will be right there with Toby.

I agree with your top eight listed to a point. I think your top three will definitely start barring injury.

Weathersby would be my guess as an almost certain starter. The 5th starter will be a battle between Boutte, Malone, and Okeke and I would put Dodd ahead of everybody if Pocic isn't playing center.

Domond is no longer on the team, and this doesn't include the newbies which may surprise.

I'm good with whatever Grimes thinks and the Tigers have some decent depth here.

Cushenberry is a center all the way

Pocic is our most cerebral lineman and as much as I want to see him play tackle ... He's a dominant center

I dont know but I sure like Teuhama 1000X better at OG than OT.

LT - Pocic 6'7 309
LG - Teuhema 6'5 327
C - Clapp 6'5 303
RG - Boutte 6'5 342
RT - Weathesby 6'5 292

I just have to believe that Pocic moves outside. If he stays inside then move Clapp in Boutte spot but this lineup gives us our best group of 5. Boutte will be on a short leash just like last year but he deserves that shot again, but there is a whole slew of talented backups waiting to get their shot.

I agree with Weathersby starting. Probably the 3rd best Lineman.

LT - Pocic
LG - Campbell
C - Clapp
RG - Teuhema
RT - Weathersby / KJ Malone

Brum / Boutte might start out at 1 of the OG spots, but I think Campbell eventually takes over that spot. Kids gonna be a monster.

And Teuhema could end up playing RT with Brum / Boutte at the OG spot next to him. Just depends on what combo the staff decides to go with.

I've been a huge proponent of Pocic moving to tackle for a couple years, but I just don't see him making the move at this point. He's already very high on draft boards at center.
