Some thoughts on LSU football thus far

I’m normally pretty pessimistic about LSU football after early season adversity but I really like the spot we’re in.

We’re kind of hanging out in the shadows nationally due to the Ole Miss loss (where we likely played the worst half of ball we’ll play all season, and still came all the way back). Ole Miss will probably continue to make that loss look worse, and no one will care if we pummel Kentucky and Moo State, just like no one cares we beat the dog shite out of Clemson and A&M. Again, I really like being out of the spotlight and I think Kiffin does too. Keeps a fire lit underneath our asses.

Numbers don’t lie though, and we’re currently sitting at #3 and #2 in total offense and defense in the entire nation. I don’t know about y’all, but that seems pretty damn good for an offense that’s still trying to find a rhythm and a defense that gives up most of its yards and points in the 3rd and 4th quarter when our 2nd and 3rd stringers are on the field. Is this the sneakiest top 3 total offensive/defensive team ever? Sure feels like it currently, and I love it.

I could very well just be drinking that purple koolaid but I really think this season could be special. Let’s hope it starts with a beat down of Kentucky in Lexington this weekend
