To me it seems as though recruiting has made more of an emphasis on hitting rather than defensive ability...Pleasants and Coffey are prime examples. Pleasants is a super stud with the bat but she is nowhere near what Serrett was. Coffey is really struggling defensively so far, hopefully they work hard with her this offseason.
I wonder if they would ever think of moving Pleasants over to third next year to ease the pressure of the shortstop position from her, she definitely has a strong enough arm for it.

It doesn't appear to be reflecting in the stats unfortunately (BA wise)

You look at batting averages on opposing teams and we fall way short. I understand our schedule has been brutal but our big “hitters” seem to be HR or K. Feast or famine.
