.........ITS Rigged

It is rigged, but only in the fact that the entity that causes the highest ratings in teh BCS NCG will be the team that ESPN will push. It's all about the Benjamins.

Love it...having to resort to the 'better loss' argument.

For those of you arguing its a simple as bama being the second best team.

This is a bad argument anyways, even the chairman of the BCS is on record saying that the system is designed to match-up the two "most deserving" teams not the two "best". I know it's been stated often, but I figured it needed repeating here.

This is 100% accurate. ESPN finally has the BCS so they are using their monopoly on the 24 hour sports news cycle to promote what they believe will be the matchup to draw the best ratings. I don't blame them. Except it affects the integrity of the BCS system. And it's as blatant as anything right now.

ETA: It's also why ESPN is pimping Richardson hard for the heisman. That will be used as a promotional tool for the big game - "Heisman trophy winner Trent Richardson and the Crimson Tide look to avenge a heart breaking overtime loss to LSU. A game in which Alabama completely controlled but missed 5 makeable FGs to only lose by 3." blah blah blah. Completely laughable but ESPN is making a business decision. That is it.

Not to mention if there have been any discussions about a "Crimson Tide Network" This push certainly will help.

trivial question. how many of the harris poll voters (if any) are employed by espn/do something in affiliation with them?

No idea. But this is where it's ultimately out of the hands of ESPN, which is what I think you might be getting at. ESPN is doing all they can. Promote, promote, promote their agenda which is in the best interest of them making more money. Nothing really wrong with it. Just the way it is. I just hope most clear thinking people realize this and don't put so much into what those guys say. They are reading from a script for the most part.
So ultimately it will come down to the pollsters and who knows what they think. This is why Bama fan is extremely nervous.

You alter Bro?

Scared...No

Angry that my 12-0 team is being disrespected and if OU beats OSU............It is my full expectation that LSU will stomp a mud hole
in gumps arse.

Personally Ide like OSU to win by a point and then have bama get in anyway exposing the BCS for the BS it is and then LSU stomps a mudhole in their arse

Okie State has already clinched a share of the Big 12 Conf Championship.

If Trent can have his heisman moment against almost an unranked team on a team that did not win its division than OSU can certainly have a let down game after a tragedy

You forgot about his "studder step" heisman run against ole miss.

Bama lost to #1 LSU Okie State lost to an unranked team that probably finishes 6-6. Most voters can't be bothered to look at much more than this.

I will never understand the who you lost to argument without considering the who you beat argument.
I'm not opposed to a rematch, but to state that Alabama is clearly one of the best two teams in the country based on who they've beaten compared to a number of other teams just doesn't hold water.

Doesn't matter who LSU plays on January 9th. LSU will win.

Comparing a player who did well vs an average team vs one who lost to an avg team?
Actually makes no sense. The rest of it does make a few good points, however.
