Yeah it wasn’t a bad move with Cowan. He’s had zero issues all year, even the best stumble at some point doing the year. Not like he got hit hard in game three outside the HR.

Shores doesn't miss many bats even with his 99 MPH fastball. Laviolette hadn't hit our lefties at all all weekend. It was 100% the right move to go to Ware and it worked.
I would have been in agony watching Shores pitch to Laviolette. Shores might be a great one - the talent is there, and he’s close - but he can’t consistently make competitive pitches with his slider. If he could he’d be a two pitch killer for us.
What Shores needs is a changeup. If he develops that and controls his slider he’ll have a great career in the bigs. A changeup coming from that 6’ 9” throwing 99 would be devastating. If they can come up with enough money to keep him at LSU one more year…

That was actually a positive coming out of the weekend. Maybe shores can be effective coming out of the pen in the next few weeks
Exactly. Yes, it sucks to the lose the game and the series, but it is much more important that we saw Shores, Noot, and Rizy looking pretty dang sharp for more than an inning in relief this weekend. Bodes well.

Cowan had a bad weekend. It happens. Hopefully he got it out of his system
