youre right, we don't know the future.

Lee in all 3 categories if he wins the starting job, in yards and attempts if he doesn't.

I still say we redshirt Shep

it's not going to happen...by opening day he'll have most of the playbook down and Crowton will already have plays designed just for him and plays designed for when both him and JJ are on the field...so he's not going to redshirt unless he get's injured

you think shep will really have the playbook down? and shep is going to LSU to play QB now thats the only reason he chose us over other schools.

jefferson will be starting, but shep will get more playing time than lee when he comes in to play a running QB role.

Rookies in the SEC don't do well, but Shep may be an exception to the rule. He is very, very, special. Yes a freshie, but one of the top recruits in the country. JJ will start and Shep #2. Bet on it. This is what happened to the coaches and JL last year.....after his first pic-6, Miles and Crowton sat down with this freshman and said, "Son, you can't let this happen. Interceptions are bad enough, but pic-6 ?? You can't do it." Well next game they had to address the same issue with a little more emotion and clarity. Well it happened again, and again. Seven times they "talked" about these cheap scores and semmingly, made little progress with the young man over the season. This is what we know. Miles and Crowton will not use JL until yhey have to this fall.

And about Ridley??? I'm a huge fan of his and think he has more talent than any of the other backs (may be wrong) but we will see a repeat of this year's TB use if there are no injuries. If we have better QB play, we will be able to use the backs more. This year Scott was very good (after his ankle injury things were ok only), KW started poorly but was Scott's equal at the end of the year, Murphy showed little (I thought he would do much, much better) and Ridley had no chance to shine. They'll red-shirt Ford and Ridley will show his meddle on special teams (#2 in tackles in 08), but probably little else. Now 2010, it will be a different story...

this is way over half these people's heads.

sad thing about all this is, If JJ struggles then RS will be the next lamb offer up to be slain, if he doenst stack up then its CG, anothe rfreshman, if he sucks then i suppose we will have to blame LM and staff that suck as coaching qbs. Never ending bitch of a cycle with some these tards that post on this board.

NOte to dumbfricks on this board..... Let the coaches decide who should start and how about we stand behind that guy.
They know... We dont.

if you have 5 QB's, and the first one starts sucking it up, do you stick with him, or go to your other options?

the definition of insanity is doing something over and over again and expecting different results.

you do realize that its possible JJ could have fared worse off than JL?

I mean its a least a thought that this coaching staff surely considered.

I agree with makecents and tojo on almost everything they've said. Starting Lee this year would not be the same as starting Lee last year, meaning that starting a redshirt freshman with no college experience is very different than starting a redshirt sophomore with probably over 500 college game snaps under his belt. Improvement is what happens with age and experience in football. To think that Lee will not have improved by September is asinine. I have a feeling that Lee and Jefferson will be rotating the first few games with Shephard getting 5-10 snaps a game depending on the score and situation.

Jefferson is the #1 QB im almost certain, just getting it out of the way.

ok Jareet Lee throws a pass here and there possibly.

Russell Shepard is alot like percy harvin minus a little speed but he can throw. SO we use that imfamous play florida had where Percy runs a sweep but yet we have recievers down field so Russell can throw if someones open or just run. makes sense to me

you may be right.

of course that whole "trading off" deal might not last too long after the first couple picks or heaven forbid pick 6's from you know who.

still, he looked the best in a live game than any of the other QB's LSU had.

and he was only a frosh.

The reason Lee decided not to transfer to other schools because he wants to prove you all are wrong about him.

I'm looking forward to see a much better JL with a cannon arm in the next season.

Geaux General Lee !!!
