Teams 9-12 had no business being there this year. Arguably cost LSU & Ole Miss a shot at the title because they had to burn nine extra innings of pitching double-tapping the zombies (think CPM rides Gilbert as long as he does if he has any of the guys that pitched Tuesday available?) Three teams with Top-10 RPIs had to play a play-in game. Just dumb.
8-team, double elimination tournament with an 8-9 play-in game at the most. I'm OK with single-elimination Saturday so you don't destroy teams before the regionals.

I absolutely hate this format. It's ridiculous that you can go 1-1 against the team that eliminates you. The Hogs got that vs LSU in 2013. Sucked then just as much as it sucks for LSU now.

The purpose of the SEC tourney, besides money, is to crown a winner for the automatic NCAA bid. One of the top tier teams usually wins it, but really impacts NCAA seedlings very little.
