His best year he had 34 catches...and he's accounted for 9 career touchdowns.

tremendous athlete...not a great football player.

Never had a chance to play QB in the SEC. I said that when he was in HS

According to Rooad and some of the more elitist posters on here he was supposed to be the next great LSU wide receiver. I knew it was a mistake then and stand by that now. If he had been allowed to run the ball in full Denard mode or have a package he could have been wildly successful.

I feel bad for the dude.. He should have gone to a school like Oregon.. He would have been a COMPLETE stud in an offensive system like that. He just doesnt fit our mold at all. He needs to be given at least 10 touches a game at rb,wr,kr, whatever.. He just isnt used correctly

What was the other option besides LSU for Shepard?

Not trying to flame. Hopefully he has a great Sr. year. Just curious what his career would have turned out as if he went there.

I thought it was RS who asked to be moved to WR?

I've never seen him throw in college, but I don't think it could be any worse then watching Jefferson. RS10 could have been what we expected from him when he signed;however, Les was not going to play him at QB so he went to WR were he had the best chance of seeing the field. True shame.

Taylor Martinez, Denard Robinson and others are TERRIBLE passers. But great runners and overall good football players. I have a hard time believing that Shepard couldnt have been similar. Again...thats at least better than JJ right?

.... and are you actually suggesting that LSU would be better off....???

UM and Nebraska would be 4th place teams in the SEC West.... and freakin' UM won the Sugar Bowl... .4th place in our DIVISION, no better.

Drops balls that ARE thrown to him....

Fumbles the ball when he takes a hard hit.....

Doesn't have the hands (or balls, or something) to be a return specialist....

Not 1 school RECRUITED him as a QB.... he chose LSU because he would get a shot. After he saw that he was not going to be LSU's QB he chose and was given the chance to play WR.... with 2 years of Gonzales coahing him... he is still not in the top 2 as a WR on this team.
