I want to add to that it isnt all the lines fault. Drew Brees for instance is hardly ever sacked, but that isnt because the Saints line is head and shoulders above everyone else in the NFL. It has a lot to do with Bree's pocket awarness, moving around deftly to the open spots in the protection and sensing the rush. He also has a very quick release and can get the ball out of his hands quickly as a last resort to avoid a sack. JJ possesses none of these traits at this point. I would attribute fully half of his sacks to him not stepping up at the right time or not throwing the ball away quickly enough. Being only a fan I don't know the entire story of course, not knowing what plays were actually called, what the protections were or how well the recievers ran thier routes or how well they were covered. All that notwithstanding, we need to block better, and we need our QB to improve.

Looks to me like Ciron is heavier than he ever has been. The added weight is inhibiting his ability to pass block against speed rushers. He isn't as quick as he was in his first three years.

Looks like he went out to eat every night in the Spring and Summer with his position coach. Yall seen Stud lately? He's starting to look like Friedgen and Mangini.......
