Back in the Dark Ages all we had to be thankful for was Tulane and Miss St. (see LSU football 1992 as Exhibit A).

Now we can’t even beat State. So we need to bring back Tulane?

Little remembered fact is that the rivalry was not as much about NOLA vs BR, but it was more about Catholic vs Jews. So, I think that's one tradition I'm ok with not bringing back.

Because LSU doesn't want to give up a home game every couple years to play a non-P5 school. LSU was willing continute scheduling Tulane as long as the game was in Baton Rouge. Tulane insisted on hosting at least one in every 3 times they played and LSU said no. Why would LSU give up a home game and all the gate revenue when the vast majority of the seats for Tulane's home game would be filled with "visiting" LSU fans. I went to the LSU-Tulane game in the Superdome in 2007 and by looking at the stands, you'd think it was an LSU home game because it was 80-85% purple and gold.

If Tulane agrees to play ALL the games in Baton Rouge, sure.

Otherwise, never.
