I dont even think JJ averages 200 yards a game passing next year. Thus whil I put his number at 2300 yards passing.

That is fair... but some Ive seen are borderline outrageous.

Some are putting up his stats from NCAA 09, you know after they played a season on Freshmen

We only had 163 yards in the Peach Bowl. That is hardly a "pass-happy" explosion. Turnovers and defense setup the scores in that game.
17-of-27 for 163 and two TDs were all JJ had that game.

You go by stats, I go by watching the game. LSU was in a spread formation much of the time. Dickson was spread out wide on his TD, for example.

We had a lot of runs from the spread. I think KW and RM breakout next season. I could see us having three legit runners going for 700 yds.

Honest answer neither....
I mean JJ I believe throws less INT than LEE
but JJ fumbles and takes more sacks because he believes he can do it with his feet.
In reality I think if you put them side by side they would be pretty even in turnover differential and probably even (with edge to JJ cause of rushing) in touchdowns.
No, he takes more sacks simply bc his only two starts were on the road, against teams with some speed to rush the passer.
Say what you want, but GTech had much better pass rushers last year than Bama had last year and likely this year.

Nah, I'd rather the ball in Jefferson's hands throwing to Lafell, Toliver, Dickson, and Randle. Protected by Black and Barksdale. If you are in the spread, you are going to pass more than run anyway. Plus, we don't have Quinn J this year.

Yeah I could see Lee with 25 Touchdowns around 17 INTS.
did you happen to see this little gem?

Yup like I stated, I could see throwing 2 touchdowns a game mainly because of INT's that will be thrown and LSU being behind.
I think if that Lee was the starter for a full season LSU would be forced into a more "pass happy" team than previous years.
25 is not out of reach, he threw 13 in 269 attempts. Flynn threw 21 in 359 attempts while playing more games. If Lee were to play a full schedule he would easily get 400 passing attempts.

common sense would tell gary crowton not to let jarrett lee throw 400 times in a season when he has 3 senior runningbacks to give the ball to.

Common sense doesn't play a part in football... if it did LSU probably should have had more rushing attempts than it did last year.
He threw is 269 times last year even though against Appy State, Ole Miss, Arkansas, GT and North Texas he had limited playing time because either he was behind Hatch, or did not start.
In 8 games really thats 229 attempts to you take out what he did vs Ole Miss, Appy State, North Texas. Which is 29 attempts a game and if you say he starts 13 games next year at that rate is 377. Which I believe would put him at 25 or the very least very close.

Your interception prediction is absurdly low. Our last 3 QBs:
1) 24-year-old JR who won the NC-10 picks
2) 4th year JR who had a GREAT season and was the #1 pick in the NFL draft--8 picks
3) 5th year SR who won NC and made an NFL roster-11 picks
And you think our 19-year-old SO with only 2 starts going into this season is only going to throw 6?
Dude is almost guaranteed to throw 10+. And that's fine. It's not going to be because he sucks, but because he's a SO playing in the SEC. And if he spreads them out, we should be able to overcome them.
And a lot of you guys are also predicting too many rushing yards for him. He's not really a running QB(though he can run). We have one of those in Shep, who will come in for those plays. No way will JJ scramble enough to make up for sack yardage lost and still compile 500 yards. Absolutely zero chance of that happening.
I wouldn't expect JJ to have an amazing season statistically. Pounding Charles Scott is probably even going to take away some of his touchdowns. Plus, he's still VERY, VERY inexperienced. They are not going to ask him to do too much. I do however, expect him to have a monster '10 and '11. With all the talent coming in I think he has a good chance to break the single season TD mark of 28. Maybe even twice.

True or False:
Jarrett Lee will never be the "starting" QB at LSU again.

Not my call, if he starts good for him I wish him well. If he doesn't then I wish luck to JJ.
As I have stated numerous times I am for which ever QB gives us best chance to win. Based on games last year and way he finished it is JJ. Both QB's have talent, both seem to have a good head on shoulder, and both want to start.
Whoever starts I will be in stands first game drunk and cheering.

probably ....however this is much more entertaining.
