Karmal, you should listen to your dad. A very objective performance evaluation of JJ.
109 Jake Heaps, QB BYU 160 81 50.6 759 4.7 32 1 3 9 88.8
110 Jordan Jefferson, QB LSU 89 46 51.7 449 5.0 51 2 6 5 88.0
RK PLAYER TEAM ATT COMP PCT YDS YDS/A LONG TD INT SACK RAT
111 Tarean Austin, QB UNM 85 43 50.6 394 4.6 48 2 4 7 87.9
He is 110 out of 111 QB in D1 football. There are two running backs, a wide receiver, and kicker that have better stats than he does.
Don't get me wrong, I hope he throws for 500 yards, but I don't see it.

quote:Yes. He got better after the 1st, worse after the second.
EDIT: And don't forget, Lee never went through a spring or fall practice as the 1st string QB. Jefferson went through 2 of each as the 1st string QB, plus a bowl practice season in 2008.

That was after the UNC game.

Jefferson is just plain awful. anybody defending him must either be stupid or just trying to get a rise out of people. i love when people talk about his youth. College is 4 years long. most of the good ones play maybe 2-3 years. To say that jefferson is still young is the dumbest shite ive ever heard.
but its the coaches fault that he is clueless every two minute drill. i wonder if he has to call a coach if he runs out of toilet paper when hes wiping his arse.

I am not saying he should be the guy right now.

LLamo and I are as close as two front teeth. Karmal needs to recognize his old man is far wiser than he is.

Jefferson is still the same old Jefferson. He really hasn't changed much. There are a lot of people hiding behind the fig life of JJ having "regressed" when in reality he just doing the same old shite and getting exposed for it more often.
Nor has Lee "regressed" either. He was absolutely terrible against Auburn in 2008 and got bailed out by Charles Scott. He's a lot better now then he was then, just as you would hope for a normal SEC QB.

As you already know, I think he played better against Alabama than Jefferson did.

The headcase defense can be played either way right now.
Sure, but take it away and Lee is still better. When he was at his worst against Tulane & Alabama, the LSU offense was still functional. In 2009 & 2010 with Jefferson, the offense was not functional.
What else do you need to know?

Nor has Lee "regressed" either.

“When I was a boy of fourteen, my father was so ignorant I could hardly stand to have the old man around. But when I got to be twenty-one, I was astonished by how much he'd learned in seven years.” - Mark Twain
Dude should have listened to his father on this one.

That's rich seeing how you and your cohorts have always relied heavily on the defense of dogging Jarrett Lee and the O-line in a manner that was remarkably underhanded and unfair.

Don't pay attention to the man behind the curtain with Jefferson. . .

He led LSU to the lead after picking splinters for one solid year.
Karma was against him last year.
a_ PP cramps up, TD
b_ PP denied int
c_ Scott injured
You give LSU just one of those 3, we win, two of those three, we leave no doubt. All 3? SECCG!

I have taken to saying they are both terrible. . .but that can hardly be said to be unfair to one over the other.
quote:How have I been unfair to the OL? I have been very clear with my criticism.
and the O-line
They were inadequate in both phases of the game in 09. I have been saintly in my absolute objectivity towards the OL in 09.
They were just not good. . .objectively.

Saying that JJ & JL are equally terrible is very unfair to Lee.
And saying that the poor passing game in 2009 was all on the O-line is even worse.

And saying that the poor passing game in 2009 was all on the O-line is even worse.
We had no running game because of poor OL play.
And I don't think they were all of the reason, just a good deal of it.
quote:Why? Lee looked better last Saturday. . .but I am not convinced he won't look worse than JJ against a real defense.
Saying that JJ & JL are equally terrible is very unfair to Lee.

What has Lee done (now that he is no longer playing behind the horrible OLine of last year), that has earned him the label of terrible, from you?
