It's impossible to do it in basketball because it is 2 days between games and teams play in different regions.
The NFL does it after Wild Card weekend. The NHL does it. College baseball can do it with a five day break.

I was doing that just for fun. I don't really care if it happens. That's my seeding after watching the supers all around (as much as I could). But if I was being honest, the ones most likely to win are LSU, ville, state, or NCstate.

So suddenly everyone thinks UCLA is awesome cuz they are playing LSU next I guess

Naw, I think ucla will be 2 and done. They gonna get rocked.
I know we will and should start Nola for the first game, but that second game IMO will be tougher then the first provided we win.

In reality, teams probably rank:
1) LSU
2) UNC
3) Louisville
4) Oregon State
5) NC State
6) Miss State
7) Indiana
8) UCLA

When will Paul make the pitching rotation (or at least first starter) formal. We all know it will be Nola. Just wondering if he has something up his sleeve.
Posted on 6/11/13 at 6:18 pm to dreaux
He did so yesterday. No word on game 2 starter.

Not much else to do when the first game isn't for another 4 days

Why is re-seeding necessary? They don't re-seed the NCAA basketball tournament just because a 12 beats a 5 thereby leaving the #1 seed playing a better team (seed wise) than the #4 seed in the second round. They don't reseed the sweet 16 just because a cindarella 13 makes a run. Why would you even seed the teams at the outset of the tournament, only do essentially change your opinion of them later? Seems a bit unfair don't you think?

First off why not reseed 1-8 instead of just the two sides of the bracket.
Why is it so difficult to see why he kept the brackets consistent?

I think they should throw out demographics and seed the tournament #1-#16.
Regional #1 is paired with the last team selected to host a regional (#16). #2 with #15 and so on.
If #1-#8 doesn't come out of their region then the host team from the other regional host the Super (assuming they win).
I don't think it's necessary to reseed once you get to a certain point. Just go 1-16, with the top seed getting the "best" draw and go with those pairings all the way to the CWS.

A few years ago a 2 seed got to host a Super Regional while 5 1 seeds went on the road, just because a 3 seed won the other bracket they were paired with. That kind of thing must be avoided. That 2 seed doesn't deserve to leapfrog all the 1s. And if they do, why bother to play the regular season?
The host site the difference. In March Madness, the 12 seed doesn't get a home game if they play a 13.

What? You mean you think that it's wrong that the #1 seed should not draw South Carolina while the 6 seed draws an SEC team that finished behind them?

In all fairness, State was probably better than South Carolina. They beat them 3 of 4. State had a tough schedule - did not play Mizzou, Tennessee or Georgia.
I thought the Super Regionals were set up as close to a 1-16 as possible. South Carolina was probably the weakest host going in. Louisville was coming off of a bed crapping in the Big East Tournament and probably looked second weakest. Kansas State drew the #3, Virginia Tech drew #4, UCLA drew #5, State drew #6, Indiana drew #7 and NC State drew #8.
If you were re-seeding Omaha based on current RPI, it would look like this:
1. North Carolina (#1 RPI)
2. LSU (#2 RPI)
3. Oregon State (#5 RPI)
4. NC State (#6 RPI)
5. Mississippi State (#8 RPI)
6. Indiana (#11 RPI)
7. UCLA (#13 RPI)
8. Louisville (#14 RPI)
I think LSU is the best team in Omaha. I think State and Louisville are probably 2nd and 3rd. North Carolina to me looks beatable, but their body of work says they are #1.

Re-seeding would actually look something like this if left to the Cmte....
1) UNC
2) Oregon St
3) LSU
4) Louisville
5) Miss St
6) UCLA
7) NC State
8) Indiana

Disagree completely. Why should the 2 seed be penalized just because they knocked out the 1 seed?
This is why reseeding in the CWS makes no sense. For example, Louisville does and should now step into the shoes as the de facto #2 seed. Why? Because they earned it by BEATING the original #2 Why should they be "penalized" and dropped to the spot of the, let's just say #4 seed just because people subjectively believe they are now the 4th best team left?

If Louisville wanted a national seed, they should have won more games and not shite the bed one week before the tournament.
You're saying Louisville DESERVES to be seeded higher than LSU now when LSU went 5-0 and did nothing to deserve to be jumped? 56-9 means less than one weekend?
LSU's victory against Vandy didn't matter but Louisville's does. That does not make sense.
