Wait so you also dismiss Mullen? Just answer this question first so I know whether to proceed or not?
I already told you that I'm not concerned with Mullen.
Holgersen may be the brightest mind in football today but he wasn't calling the offenses at TT and OSU. Apparently you think I'm trying to discredit your homeboy and you are upset. I'm not but it'll be okay.

Let me know when you learn the meaning of the word 'discredit'.

I'm not trying to discredit him in terms of his talent and football mind. And certainly, I don't think I'm discrediting anyone when folk are incorrectly trying to credit him with the success of the TT and OSU offenses.

By the way, more and more is going to Mark Helfrich at Oregon in terms of playcalling. CK is obviously the genius behind all of it but by all accounts Helfrich is extremely smart.

It's ludacris to put Chaney over Weis at this point. You can make an argument for him over Mullen, which I'd listen to, but not agree with. However, to have him over Weis is insane IMO.
Why?
Chaney has about as legit of a resume on the collegiate level as you could ask for.
Weis has produced two NFL flops at QB.

However, to put him over a guy who has won multiple Super Bowls, turned Tom Brady into a multiple Super Bowl winner,
Tom Brady is Tom Brady and has continued to beat shite up without Weis.
He gets too much credit for that.

He has produced two elite NCAA QBs. His job is not to produce elite NFL prospects.

Petrino
Holgorsen
Kelley
Malzahn
I put Malzahn 4th only because he no longer has a 6'6 250 beast running the show...There are many keys to stopping his O..

It’s much more difficult to put a system in place or to develop a player than it is to sustain it.
Now I’m not saying Weis turned Pee-Wee Herman into Joe Montana, but how someone can say he doesn’t deserve a substantial amount of credit for Tom Brady is beyond me. Brady has three Super Bowls with Weis; he has zero without.

Check out his 2009 stats with a scrub like Chris Todd

And they are? I’m sure Chavis would love to get them.

won't matter when you replace a QB, WR's and OL...You talkin bout this year right? Not 2009?

I guess I see what you’re saying, but Malzahn is still an elite playcaller regardless of who he loses. If we’re ranking offenses I’d agree he wouldn’t be my number 2 and might not be in the top 5 of the list, but he’s still an elite playcaller.

Eh that’s a dated key that really only works against simplified high school-level offenses IMO. You can use it at times against Malzahn, but if you use it as your predominant read he’s going to kill you on the jet reverse or on a counter. Gap discipline and effective force play is the only way to stop his offense. If you start chasing guards he’s going to kill you.

Well Brady didn't play every position...
Brady has posted the best numbers of his career post Weis.
Hell he went from a solid QB who got too much credit for winning SBs under Weis, to one of the elite guys in the game without him.
Weis is a pretty good coach, but I don't think the marriage with Florida will be nearly as beautiful as everyone else does. He doesn't have the personnel to do what he wants, and he'll probably be out of there before he really does.

Alot of folk on here were saying in 2005 that Meyer's offense wouldn't work in the SEC. You see how that turned out. In 2007, folk were saying Saban wouldn't have close to the same success that he did at LSU.
In the SEC, you never know.

Agreed, but Weis still got him at his earliest and turned him into a 3-time Super Bowl winner. He has continued to develop well, but that doesn’t diminish Weis’ impact.

I don’t agree with that, but if you do that’s fine. Where do you think he’ll be going?
