Not really. Brooks didn't really make an impact until half way through the season.

I was talking about the locker room stuff.

What's funny is people were bitching last year about the lack of leadership after the suspensions. Guys will step up in the locker room, they always do.

God. Tharold Simon sounds like a puss. Change things if they need to be changed. Your not a freshman for god sakes.

Exactly! Stop being an uninspired fake pot smoker, strap it up and stop crying like a woman.

This Team needs a Ray Lewis moment in there apparently.

One big win and it will all change. This team is living in last year's identity. They need their own.

I took that more as Hurst taking up for the O-Line against all of the outsiders saying they suck than complaining about teammates.

Hurst is right. The OL isn't responsible for QBs that step on their own feet, hold the ball, and unless emol drops to cover, he can't leave him unblocked to slide on a corner blitz.
He was probably a answering reporter as clueless as a Rantard.
What Hurst should've said is "If I have to explain football to you, maybe you should be gathering material for the social columns".

If you've played organized sports at a high level you would never have made that last comment. If guys "always" step up, coaches wouldn't have to push so hard for it. You can't manufacture leadership and chemistry. Bottom line.

It can be spun any way you want to spin it. Bottom line is these things being said in the press shows that there is an underlying problem with this team. I blame Mett for the lack of leadership. Leaders don't dress up like Ron Burgundy before a football game.

I'm talking about at LSU not your former high school team. LSU has leaders every year step up.

“Last year, it was so much fun,” Simon said. “We came together in the locker room, clowning around on the field — still being serious, but also having fun. “This year is totally different. We’re not clowning around in the locker room or talking outside of practice. We don’t get together like we did last year. ... That’s been a big problem for us. We just need people to step up. The whole team needs to step up and lead each other.”

Doesn't Tharold realize that's his job now that he's a junior and the job of other upperclassmen (Juniors/Seniors) to perform now?

I don't like how any of them talk to the press, including Mett. Time for a leader to emerge. Let's hope they play better than they talk today.
