no he didn't.

i went to the game and have not seen the espn broadcast of it. I noticed that he was looking off of this primary receiver in person. He checked all the way down to Ford a couple of times that I remember. He was not the primary or even secondary receiver on these plays. Someone else in this thread has also said that espn was making note of this also. So yes he did.

Also, JJ was 8-23 (35%)
JL was 10-20 (50%)

Judging either of them off of the spring game is fricking stupid. You're talking about practice man. How silly is that? Not the game. NOT THE GAME. We're here talking about PRACTICE.

so much fricking better. Look at each of their last starts in an actual game. Lee was fricking terrible. Jefferson was mediocre. And Jefferson went against a much tougher defense.

And for the record, I am not saying Lee should be starting in the fall. What I would like to see is Miles have a legit QB competition in the fall. Whoever looks better in the fall gets the first start. If this person sucks it up early, give the other guy a try.

Yep. And if its Spring or Fall before the season starts, that's all people have to go by. And guess what, that's how players become starters, by having better practice sessions than the starters they end up replacing.

I'm sure that if Lee is that much better than Jefferson in the fall he will be the starter. He's not going to just put a shitty QB out there if someone is much better.

This among other things.

1. his year at the helms we may have had the worse defense in the history of LSU. I can tell you if someone would have told us that we would have put up 38 against UGA in TS, we would have won.
2. we were a much more competitive team that year. Hell we put up 21 on UF. JJ only put up 3.
3. I think the whole "112th in Offense" will resonate with Tiger Fans until the day GC and LM leave here, no matter when that day comes and how it comes.
4. I think he looked like he progressed and JJ hasnt.

yes sir...correct...

Lee may throw a pick six or two, but he can score points, jj provides us no chance to score, we have to score to win.

What are you watching?

If anything, he has less zip on the ball then he used to.

I don't get into personal attacks on young football players who are doing their best. Nothing personal. I just don't see Lee as a starting SEC QB. I think Jefferson has had mild success as an SEC starter but certainly appeared to take a backward step in the spring game .. for whatever that is worth.

If Garrett is lighting it up in practice (I don't know that he has) I would sure hope the coaches would give him a chance at some point to show what he can do in live action. But unfortunately I don't think they will.

Said it before. Miles is not going to start another sophomore QB to try things out, unless injuries force it.

He's seen that movie.

Then what basis do YOU have for claiming he hasn't improved?

Using your logic, of course.

Should we do a reality show where QBs get voted off the island or a least have Ed McMahon (or a look alike, I think big Ed died...?) bring the starter a big fake 'starter' check at the pre-season press conference?

Why does everyone beat this 'stupid' drum about Miles not playing the best players or not having a competition?

It is really retarded.

Russell Shepard wasn't ready to take over last year and as bad as our situation at QB seems to some people he has been rightfully moved to WR.

He wasn't the answer but now Miles has a 'history' of not playing the best player..?

JJ had a less than spectacular spring game/practice; so what?

JL had a more better less than spectacular spring game/pratice; so what?

I don't recall spring games EVER meaning ANYTHING.

I hope THEY BOTH (and CG) get better because you never know when we will need them, regardless of who starts.

Remember, LSU won two National Championships with 'average' QBs.

I think ALL the other pieces are in place to help the QB position this year and that is a good thing.

Lee in '08 - 13 TD's, 16 INT's in 9 games

Jefferson in '09 - 17 TD's, 7 INT's in 11 games and with no o-line

Points? wanna compare points on the board? First downs? Sacks? Punts?

Stats are useless. Only thing that matters is moving the ball consistently and putting points on the board. LSU doesn't have a QB that can do that.
