Let's make 1 thing clear. There were players who did not break curfew. This childish business about everybody does it is crap. You make a personal choice to act as an individual. Personal responsibility. Regardless if you are a know it all athlete or fan the curfew was in place for a reason. If an athlete made a personal choice to follow it they look pretty good right now.
The players that followed the rules are called keepers.I remember trying to use that everybody does it crap on my mother. She would ask me if everybody jumped off the top of the state capital building, was I going to jump.So I agree, put that everybody does it business to rest.

The faux-outrage is sickening. If there was no fight you would have never heard about anybody breaking curfew because the coaches don't find it significant.

If you don't expect people to follow rules then don't make rules. Can you see playing a baseball game and not following the rules. If you break a rule then you suffer the consequences for breaking the rule whatever those consequences happen to be. Just that simple. If the players don't break curfew, then we don't have them involved in a fight at Shady's Bar.

Patrick Peterson, russell shepard, Kelvin sheppard, mat flynn, stevan ridley, ciron black, Toliver. These guys have all broken curfew that i witnessed with my own eyes. So we should weed them out too. None of these guys shoul dhave ever stepped on the field at LSU
I don't think the players you listed fall in the category of Perrilloux and Collins. Those who violated curfew will have to accept the consequences whatever it happens to be and those involved with fighting will have to suffer the consequences for both curfew and fighting.

Likely nothing more than some extra running so why is anybody complaining about "rooting out the guys not following the rules".

So I'm assuming you ALWAYS drive at the speed limit or under. You never go atleast 1 mph over? Cause if you do then you're also a hyprocrite and you need weeded out from the roads.
Perfect driving record. In fact, I get a discount on my insurance.

Um, no we wouldn't. I've been in many LSU fights and not arrested. As a matter of fact, there were MANY not on the team there and no arrests...
[quote]If LSU does not want to punish the players, LSU's football program is no better than Ohio State. I know it sounds harsh, but if it were any other team we would say the same.[/
Unless you know the entire story, you should probably wait untill it comes out. Curfew breaking happens all the time even under Saban.

This thread was about the curfew, not fighting. And YOU said weed out anyone that breaks the rules. I bet collins broke curfew, i know rp did.
See when i put fans favorite names out there the tone changes. So now we wait for multiple incidents and a peeping tom?
GTFO
We all know you mean kick JJ of the team. you could care less that 50 players broke curfew. If you are talking about the fight, then JJ, Dport, Johns, and Landry should get kicked off the team.
The 4 others involved should get kicked out of the university also, if they attend. Going by ur logic.

I think what most people are saying is that if the rules were followed then they wouldn't have been involved in the fight. Those who violated the rule of curfew will have to suffer the consequences and those who violated curfew and fighting will have to suffer whatever consequences.Players who have violated rules before and were involved this time can certainly expect severe consequences. If the punishment is running so be it.That is for the coaching staff to decide.

Team tradition that the coaches know about. That doesn't mean they can go out and act an arse though.
The possibility that the coaches knew about this "tradition" and turned a blind eye really pisses me off. If you want players to blow off some steam, circle September 3rd on the calendar!
I expect something bad to happen when combining alcohol with a bunched of players who've been working their asses off while being cooped up in a dorm. It ain't rocket science.

I totally agree with you.We need to weed out individuals with behavior like former players Ryan Perrilloux and Cecil Collins.Players like that are not assets but liabilities in the long run.You don't reward bad behavior because you will only get more of the same.
This is ur post replying to players breaking rules, which the rule is curfew.
But now you change ur story to this

First you say weed them out, now you say up to the coaching staff.

Who do you think makes the decision? It will be up to the coaching staff not you,me or anyone else.Miles and staff always make the decision regarding consequences of rule violations.

The breaking of curfew the last night of camp is like Senior Skip day. It actually build team unity. The coaches don't want to know. But when morons go and get in a fight...then all bets are off.
