question about returning to CFB after NFL draft Declaration

Someone correct me if I'm wrong here but doesn't basketball have some type of system where players can declare, test the waters to see where they stand in the eyes of scouts, and if they don't like where they are then they can return and continue playing for their university.
Is there no system for this in football and if there is why don't we hear about it being used more often and if there isn't then why then hell not?

I’m pretty sure as long as they don’t hire and agent they can still return. The rules are really not transparent and frankly the NCAA probably makes arbitrary rulings case by case based on how they’re feeling that day.

I think I even remember reading or hearing that CBB has "NCAA approved agents" or basically legal handlers to guide them and advise them on what they should do next. Would love for something like that to exist in CFB.

They can even go through the combine and have interviews with NBA teams then decide if they want to come back.

I believe It has to be allowed by the NFL and NFLPA first then the NCAA can say if they will let the players do it which they will because they wouldn’t want the PR hit.

I think we have a shot. Our veteran players are going to be pissed as hell about this past season. If the Oline steps up,and we hire the right DC LSU is a top 4 team.
