Traffic in Baton Rouge gets worse and worse every year. The price of progress I guess.
If you hate traffic, get up early and go tailgate. If you're nice to LSU fans and smile when they yell "Tiger Bait!" at you, they may even offer you some jambalaya and a beer. Bring a TV or make friends with at other tailgates. It is said that half the people in the parking lot don't even have tickets, they are just there to tailgate. If you don't tailgate for at least a couple hours, you really are missing out on the full experience.
As for driving to Tiger Stadium, take the scenic route. Take I-12 and exit Sherwood. Go south on Sherwood to Coursey. Head over to Spanky's and get yourself a daiquiri. Head back down Sherwood, cross over Airline and down Siegen all the way to Highland. Drive up Highland past under the stately oaks all the way to LSU. If you need another daiquiri, stop at Daiquiri Cafe on Highland at Lee.
Enjoy the game. And if you drink enough, you may think your Bulldawgs won even if they lose. Either way, my advice to you is to drink heavily. When in Rome...
Now this is a fine example of coonass directions.
