re: Protest in Central at Local Business

The Asian Cajuns (they describe themselves that way) are a group of south East Asians who had a haircutting place in Drusilla Shopping Center and cut Saban’s hair when he was in Baton Rouge. They previously worked in Lafayette. The ladies had to escape when they were young. All were made to cut their hair to look like boys to lessen the chance of getting raped if they were found by local soldiers. They escaped their village in a fishing boat, hiding under stuff. Made it to a US Boat and were refugees who were allowed into this country.
The key difference, while they kept some of their culture, they assimilated into and added to American Culture. Great example of how it can and should be. They love America, maybe more than some born here!
