Mingo and Montgomery played outside contain a lot and were mildly disruptive last year compared to other years...

I agree with this. I see some saying freak has been double teamed or whatever... like Downs, Brockers, and those guys werent?

Im no expert, but i consistently see the line of scrimmage being re-established in defensive territory. Im not used to seeing that from LSU.

Its not hard to understand.

When you play a read option attack your responsibility on the dline and de is to contain first and then react.

The second half of auburn we were playing different combinations of players trying to give some game experience to some younger players and also looking at different defensive packages.

Contain is one thing. Getting pushed back 3 yards off the line is another.

Has everyone forgot that Minter made 1000 tackles last year. He saved some big plays and got pressure from his LB spot. We don't have that at this point.

Minter was a beast. I can't imagine how good this defense would be if he had come back for his senior season.

And Tyrann was coming back too until the Jordan Jefferson drug bust.
