It was from the final game. The picture was taken during game three of the Super Reginonals between UC Irvine and LSU.
If you look at the logos behind home plate, you can see four white circles. The weekend before during the Regionals, there were 4 logos representing Texas Southern, Southren Miss, LSU and I want to say UNO. The logos of those teams were painted over to look like white baseballs with the LSU and UC Irvine logos, as well as two baseball players. I remember the photo well and remember it being from the last game in Alex Box. The game was played on a Monday evening as it was part of the Saturday, Sunday, Monday(if nesessary) broadcast on ESPN. LSU then commenced to pounding UC Irvine 21-7 with Anthony Raunado throwing the last pitch and recording the last out 1-3.
Another interesting thing from that game is this picture, which obviously caused some controversy.
Of course, this was provked by some of UC Irvine's head coach Mike Gillespie's comments, where he said in a Nebraska newspaper that he didn't believe people in Louisiana knew that the Civil War was over. LSU fans everywhere got a bad rap for it, life goes on. I personally think we all know how it woulda turned out if it were two outta three though.
