If the #3 team loses definitively to the #4 team in a neutral-site game, then by definition they were overrated.

Highly doubt the fans doing the chant were thinking in those technical terms, though.

People look way much into the overrated chant. It is the fans trying to say you suck, we are better. Is is gay? Yes. Is it pointless? Yes. Does it make the win cheap? Well frick you if you think last night was cheap because people said overrated.

You mad?

I paid 500 for the seat, 250 a night for the hotel, 150 for gas, 100 to park, if I want to yell overrated I will yell overrated. Every college basketball fan in the world does it when there team beats a higher ranked team at home. Thats what we did we beat a higher ranked team at Lsu north. Stop being such a pussy. Oregon fans talked all kinds of trash!

I definitely didn't partake in the overrated chant, but I happily joined in the "SEC!" and "LSU" chants at the end!

Oregon doesn't lose another game this year. If it wasn't for the turnovers, it would have been a lot tighter.

The people that usually chant that are the drunk 20 somethings that are dumb to begin with.

The SEC chanters are pretty moronic too.

1) "Overrated" is particularly fun to cheer when their fanbase has been throwing up the "O" hand sign all game. Nice to throw it back in their faces.

2) They played a ridiculously sloppy game. Did they look like the #3 team in the country? No, they didn't.

3) They lost to another SEC Tiger team in consecutive games.

LSU performed as billed (& exceeded expectations). Oregon was picked by almost every single media outlet to win this game.

Oregon was overrated. And I had so much fun reminding them of it, particularly after they booed our injured players. I don't care what bullshite fake injuries your fellow PAC-whatever teams pull, we don't play that shite in the SEC.

It is standard operating procedure for any LSU player who has an equipment problem to go down after the play so a proper substitute can be brought in. It especially the case for a QB, and Flynn did it a few years ago an the road against Auburn or Alabama, but I cannot remember which one.

Edit: Now I am thinking that it may have been Hester.

they are a top 10 team

Say all you want about mistakes, LSU basically had 2 different 100 yard rushers, when Oregon knew from the beginning that we were going to line up and run it right at them. Oregon's defense is not good, and they still have not beaten a top 20 team from any other conference than their own. As for being a top 10 team, I don't think Oregon beats any of the following teams in a neutral location:

1. LSU
2. Oklahoma
3. Alabama
4. Arkansas
5. Miss State
6. Florida (I honestly think last year was a 1 year issue with them and we need to be as worried about that game as any other team we play)
7. Florida State
8. Ohio State
9. Wisconsin
10. Penn State (they seem to be back to their status quo after watching their week 1 performance)
11. Boise State
12. Texas AM
13. Nebraska
14. Ok State

Say what you want, but the truth of this matter is this: Oregon will finish this season in the top 10 only because they don't play the schedule the vast majority of the teams i just listed play. They'll go walk through the cake-12 and Kirk Herbstreit will be frapping over how "they corrected those minor mistakes and aren't the same team we saw against LSU" (They haven't played another team nearly as good as LSU)

Oregon was gifted plenty of points this game as well from bs penalties and turnovers too. The difference was, Oregon's offense got dominated when they got the ball in LSU's redzone. Im so sick of seeing this shite. The fact remains: they only get good recruits at athletic positions -- that leaves them with consistently crappy o-line and defensive line - aka 9 of 22 players on the field. If you don't think so then go look at how many times they had to chop block b/c they were getting their asses handed to them. Chop blocking should be banned.

I think its meant to get under the other teams' skins more than anything else. It does serve its purpose that way but definitely takes away from the quality of the win.
