Wasn't Sciambra in a massive hitting slump before he got hurt? Don't remember his BA, seems forever ago.

I love how Edward makes a mistake that absolutely shouldn't be made at the high school level, let alone college.

It didn't hurt us and he made up for it with a double the next inning. He has the strongest arm of any outfielder.

It was like watching 2 different levels of baseball comparing the 2 outfields tonight.

He did make up for it. But it always makes me nervous when an outfielder only uses one hand when he could use two.

He's also slow as hell, has no urgency or takes good angles on the ball. Every single time a ball is anywhere but hit directly to him, looks like he struggles to get to it. I hold my breath when I see him running to a ball...always seems like he barely gets there. And that happens a lot, even balls just floating forever.

An arm is about all he's got.

Am I the only one who thought that Rhymes didn't put any effort into trying to catch the ball that Nola had to try to catch over his shoulder while diving?

Arby was acting like he just played his last game ever.

If he doesn't learn how to hit the baseball, it may have very well been his last game.

I will say this, we needed all the bats in our lineup we could find. We weren't going to be Stony Brook scoring 2 or 3 runs. I realize that outfield was not good defensively, but Mainieri had no other choice. Arby Fields hadn't gotten a base hit since March.

Arby won't be on this team next year. That's a given. Not with the OF speed we have coming in.

Like I said in the first post, I can completely understand this. I'm just pointing out that the outfield playing tonight didn't look like a group that belonged there.

My husband was complaining about that all night, our outfielders never moved. Coach PM has been out coached all year long.
And YES we need a hitting coach...........

I wish we could of kept Cody Reine. He was a pretty good outfielder and starting for the Sooners.
