The relationship is great because of the Tiger fans that migrate up here.

You guys just don't come up and head to the local chain establishments, but come out and go the local places.

I noticed this about 15 years ago, when my ex wife, who was a local singer, was playing at a local coffee shop in the Old Market, a group of LSU fans came in dropped a few bucks in for a tip, gave her a good ovation, and took off.

Plus the tailgating didn't hurt.

Due to the location and corresponding travel requirements, most of the fans who attend are well off and have money to spend. Many of the sidewalk fans who clog up campus on football and baseball game days (thankfully) don't make it up there. So there is a much better representation of the overall fanbase.

Finally asked a bartender at a little bar on 10th street why Omaha likes Tiger fans so much. He said it was simple, they are always so nice. He said they don't like Miami and Texas cause they are rude and a$@"s.

Nebraska was formed out of the Louisiana purchase. Apparently they haven't forgotten their roots

It probably doesn't hurt that Nebraska has had LSU's number in football and that the Tigers helped the Huskers get into the NC game once or twice.
