This is going to be exciting. In addition to the reasonable expectation that we are entering into a new era with a legit and exciting offense, we also are about to join the DBU and DLU of the defensive unit with this exciting group of LSU linebackers.

This is going to be the story of the year for the Tigers (aside from a solid offence for once).

Who do you think will be THE LB stud in 2014?

Exactly...

Sheppard, Riley, and even Minter all over achieved and became very good players. Now, we have some serious talent at LB and I cant wait to see how good they become.

Especially since all the freshman from last year have way more experience this season. Bigger, stronger, and improved. Considering that and that Tahj Jones and Welter have been doing well gives us a big strength on the defense. Our 2-3 deep at LB is stacked.

Minter was the 17th LB per Rivals. Chavis has consistently turned 3* LB recruits into beasts and now he has a stable of 4 & 5*

We be stacked at LB. Chief forged many into the Pros while at UThug. THIS is going to be special.

Truly / / when one of the Rantgeeks spews out some nonsense challenging Chavis's opinion on who should be starting at LB.

OK well im guessing youre talking about Welter??

The thing is, when Sheppard and Riley and Minter were playing, they were playing because they were better than every other LB that we had. Now, we have 6 LBs that all could be starters, and are more talented than Welter.

Minter was a top 5 MLB on scout. I know he was in the top 300 and I believe right around 100 overall. I think scout had a better opinion

I will say that Minter doesnt have the measurables to be rated really high out of high school. Wasnt really big or strong or fast. Dudes just a football player and its hard to rate that very high because the argument could be made that hes just playing bad competition.

I normally dont give rivals slack etc but I mean I can understand Minter not being rated that high. Dudes just a football player though.
