Our defense is very bad, Ole Miss' defense is worse and historically bad

119th scoring defense
110th rushing defense (5.66 YPC )
125th passing defense
127th total defense (dead last)

Ours for comparison:

95th scoring defense
54th rushing defense (4.64 YPC)
127th passing defense (dead last )
121st total defense

But we should be able to run the ball with whomever we choose against this team, keep possession, and keep the ball out of Coral's hands.

Their top 2 receivers (by far) opted out too, most notably Elijah Moore, who would've HAUNTED us.

Stingley better not allow more than 20 yards all game

Assuming he’s playing

Our OL needs to bring it and we just pound them into submission with the run. Damn, wish we had TDP for this one. Curry gonna eat though.

Plus that helps keep our defense fresh

I just want him to play. Still questionable right?

He'll be up against their #3 target all year for the most part I have to believe, so having him shut that person down means Ole Miss is down to their normal 4th and 5th options for Coral to throw to.

Yep. And maintaining TOP is going to be the key as well.

Agree. He's perfect for this game. He'd average 5 YPC all day.

You think a "perfect" back for this game would get held below their season average?

lane kiffin will scheme the hell out of us with whoever they have at WR. doesn’t matter the talent on our side vs theirs. you think Miss St had a bunch of studs that were better than ours? no... it was coaching.

Pelini is going to get shredded.

It's actually the mid point in his season average and theirs. It was a conservative number, I admit, but we aren't very good either.

We are 111th in rushing offense with 3.29 YPC. TDP is averaging 4.3.

Likely, but Elijah Moore is lethal with the ball in his hands. He's by far their most dynamic player. It will help to have him miss this game.

But I agree Kiffin is going to have Pelini's number, which is why we need to keep possession. I think TOP wins this game.

We're likely going to win TOP because the defense will be giving up chunk plays left and right.

Mizzou seemed to do OK with a bunch of first game starters and walkons. Kiffin has to be licking his lips to go against Pelini.

I think we've improved since then. Not drastically, but somewhat.

And hopefully this team is playing hard for .500 and with some confidence after beating UF.

UF still put up over 600 yards of offense. Not even acknowledging the Bama game

This is where we can have some optimism, but Kiffin is likely the best offensive mind we're going to face this year if we're being honest, and he's gonna be motivate dto make a statement with this game.

They did, but they are a much better team than Ole Miss.

Not offensively I think you're being blinded by the names of the schools.

Someone hasn't looked at the offensive ranking for this season apparently.

Watch this game end up being a defensive struggle. Par for the course this year.

It doesn’t take much of a game plan, just create a diversion that makes LSU’s DB have to switch and wait for whichever DB had the busted coverage

Our defense at least showed signs of life against Florida.
