Interesting. So 395 is easy vs average defense, yet it wasn't accomplished early in the season or any previous seasons. Averaging 300 over 4 games is easy vs poor defenses yet it hadn't been done in almost 20 years.
It looks to me like you're demeaning a fantastic performance. 2nd in LSU history just to keep someone else's narrative alive.

This is not the case at all. If you want to look at things from a simpleton's point of view I guess you can see it this way
Wow I'm a simpleton but you have to read my posts to fill out your vocabulary.

Upgraded RBs
We've had a ridiculous stable of RB's damn near every year. This is not a reason to believe change has occurred
Huh? It's early and I'm on my first cup of coffee but are you saying that LSU hasn't upgraded at running back?
Maybe I'm reading that wrong. If not

LSU has upgraded I guess, if for no other reason than O signed just a single RB in the 2016 and 2017 classes. Depth on the other hand is another question.

Refer to the post above yours.

I'd like to ask O what DNA stands for.

Man that's a patented tactic of the coach; tank the expectations then do what he's supposed to be doing so he gets extra credit.

Not in 2018

This isn't a quilting bee. Everyone knows that recruiting elites starts at least 2 years before signing day. The '16 class was completely Miles', and the '17 class was mostly Miles'.

Hence the ONE RB signed in the two preceding classes. Coaching malpractice.

Poor Ol' O, the guy just can't catch a break! You can't expect a purported elite recruiter to join the staff in January 2015, become recruiting coordinator in January 2016, become head coach in September 2016, and manage to sign any recruits until AT LEAST 2018. It clearly takes two years to win any top-tier recruit, just look at how long Bama worked on Saivion Smith.

become recruiting coordinator in January 2016,
The ignorance you have about this position is astounding.
The 17 class was definitely mediocre, 18 was very good. We are set for a great year and some of the 18 recruits will contribute immediately.

Position coaches make their wish lists, but HCs make all major decisions. RC's direct traffic.

Should I presume that a school's recruiting coordinator would not have any say in the recruiting strategy (as Frank Wilson was under Miles) and no relationship with recruits? O had a leg up in that he had been on staff for two years before the 2017 class was signed AND was recruiting coordinator... FOR THAT VERY CLASS! But it was that dang Miles' fault that O couldn't sign a good class!
ETA: and the funny thing is that the 2017 class was actually ranked much higher than O's 2018 class, for which he was totally in charge of

It's supervisory and administrative. The RC doesn't decide who to accept in a class
Who is the RC now? I'll bet you have to google.

Yes, the RC can finesse some here and there, but the position coaches and HC have the lion's share of clout in the selections. And if the recruiting is done by geographically determined territories (most programs are), the effectiveness of the territory recruiter has a big impact.
