Great, we won, but, damn, I wish Miles had gone to michigan
that's exactly what I was thinking & so were alot of LSU boosters that I was at the game with.
It was somewhat obvious then & is overwhelmingly obvious now to those that can be objective that Miles is in over his head.

Got no problem with Miles, we played the #1 team in the country, held them to 13 points, with superman at the wheels. I'm an LSU fan and love the tigers. I'm proud of them. Yes, I would have loved to have won. Then what would you guys have to b--ch about.

I think there are three damn good coaches in the top tier of programs: Meyer, Saban and Carroll. Miles is in the rank below with a lot of other good coaches. I'm not an expert on the game, so I base most of my evaluation on the team's record:
34-6 first three years
8-5 last season
5-1 this season
I figure he's earned this year and next season to get us back to being a legitimate contender for the SEC crown. Some things I love about the man, somethings bother me. Anyway, he's got two seasons in my book before thinking about a yea or nay on keeping him (that is, barring a 5-7 finish this season and like an 0-4 start in 2010).

Let me make sure I understand this:
You went to a National Championship Game in which LSU obliterated the number one team (I know, questionable) in the contry, and you and the people around you are thinking," oh oh, this isn't good. Now we have to keep Miles awhile."
More lunacy. I am overwhelmed.
Wait!! Is this some of the irony, sarcasm stuff?
That or you are lying your arse off too. Again, off the bandwagon again?

I support our coach. Was a Saban fan and now I am a Miles fan. That being said, here are my reservations or just things that piss me off.
The overt lying to the media and public about certain situations. Whether its injuries or discipline I feel he flat out lies to us. I understand the in-house concept and not wanting to give opponents an edge as far as injuries, but he flat out lies and never answers a question directly.
The defense last year. He gets a pass on this as he had the stomach to clean house on that side of the ball, however he has to be faulted for the decision to go with co-coordinators.
We know he can recruit and I personally think he can coach. Winning the BCS every year is unrealistic, however if in the next year or two we see LSU slip to a second rung SEC West team, I will be off the Les fan club.
Till then lets let things play out. We have a good coach and a good team.

i think you are spot on. We need a quarterback coach. I have been saying this for 3 years. That is all we need along with less formations at this time.

[quote]Who's opinion has changed? Who went from loving Miles and thinking he was a damn good coach to not liking Miles so much and thinking he's just a mediocre coach?[/quote
my opinion changed...he went from 46-11 to 46-12 because the team lost to the #1 team in the country who happens to have the best all around qb in college football. the coaches had them ready to play and with much better execution we could have won a major upset. my opinion of our team has not changed. we, at this time, are not a championship calibre team. Just because we want it to be so doesn't make it any more of a reality. Our qb is average...our oline is average...our receivers are good...our dline is slightly better than average...our linebackers are good...our dbacks are pretty good...our punter is average...our placekicker is pretty good. These are the facts...you can choose to believe them or you can continue to live your LSU football life in a world of make believe fantasy and self defeating hate.
