that 2001 LSU offense was the closest thing I ever saw to the Spurrier offense at UF

it was amazing how open the WRs were able to get

Pretty sure JR has way more game winning drives than Flynn. I can only think of AU and UF for Flynn, both at home. JR had at least @Tenn, @ASU, @Bama, OM @ home

Pretty sure he played in a lot more games than Flynn but to be fair you are missing some comebacks for JR.

In deciding whom to put at QB for a game-winning drive, I'd suggest that the relevant evidence goes beyond just previous game-winning drives. Who was at QB @ Alabama in '07, for example? Game-winning drive was not necessary, but drive to score the previous TD, setting up the defensive gem was key.

I see what you're saying. But considering JR had more experience, more experience with game-winning drives and b/c he was a better QB overall, I would take JR over Flynn in a heartbeat.

Yeah that list was just off the top of my head.

But part of my point was that it's always better to go with the more experienced guy in that case and JR played 3 times as much as Flynn did AND he had more comeback wins.

1. Russell: It isn't even close. One of the most clutch players I've ever seen. He won game after game on the last drive.

2. Rohan: Love the gunslinger. Refuse to lose attitude with a great arm.

3. Flynn: The General. He willed his team to win. I'm not positive that he'd make the play to win the game, but he'd put the team in position to do so.

4. Mauck: There are several ex-LSU QBs I'd take before him. He was not a clutch player.

Sorry guys, I have to jump in here with some stats.

PASSING GP Effic Att-Cmp-Int Pct Yds TD Avg/G
--------------------------------------------------
2001
Rohan 12 146.5 367-217-10 59.1 3347 18 278.9
2003
Mauck 14 148.2 358-229-14 64.0 2825 28 201.8
2006
Russell 13 167.03 342-232-8 67.8 3129 28 240.7
2007
Flynn 12 126 359-202-11 56.3 2407 21 200.6

Though I am a huge fan of Rohan, I give Russell the edge because of the TD to INT Ratio and completion %.
I thought of looking up sacks taken, since this could kill a drive. But, it dosen't matter since they would all have this years OL along with WR corps.

Not really. He usually played very well at the end of games. He's not a terrible choice.

I'd take Rohan, then JR, then Flynn. To be honest, any one of those guys proved capable many times.

Rohan was just a beast who would do anything to win. I think JR had the best arm. Flynn was clutch when he needed to be and was surprizingly fast but the physical tools werent as good.

The only answer is HODSON!!!!!!!

But of the names you mentioned it would be Flynn.

In order:
Hodson
Flynn
Russell even though he is dumb. (for AM and The Doc)
Mauck

I don't remember the rain part but we got to storm the field that night and I saw the goalposts go down twice that season (Alabama). That was a fun season except the loss to UAB.
