This team would still have issues if fully healthy
No doubt

Beloso is probably the least impactful injury, but that's mostly going off his dud of a previous season
I disagree. It sounded like him and Jay had figured something out and he was primed to have a really nice bounce back season. Plus, his leadership and experience would have been very valuable.
But I don’t really count Beloso or Coleman right now. They haven’t been part of the team all year, so I don’t think we can use their injuries as a reason, not excuse for this weekend. We are who we are and who we’ve been, a very flawed team with starting pitching and infield defense being huge weaknesses that we just didn’t have answers for. We’ve won with a stellar bullpen and really good offense. It’s the Dugas, Milazzo, Morgan, and Berry injuries that killed us this weekend (not that Morgan played bad, but without Berry, and with Doughty and Jobert slumping, we needed last year’s Morgan to make up for that production
And I think we are way underestimating the effect of not having Berry in the lineup. Not just his production, but he has a quiet confidence that rubs off on the rest of the team and gives them a little swag that they completely lacked. And he extends the lineup, making it better than the sum of its parts.
I also think we may be underestimating the severity of his injury too. They were talking about putting pins in it today. That’s way more serious than had been talked about. And I don’t think they’re gonna put him in a position to do anything to hurt it worse and affect his draft status or pro career.
