They still might wind up winning the CWS, but a lot of you guys overrated the frick out of them. Predicting them to have single-digit losses, saying they were the best hitting team in the last 10 years, maybe the best LSU team of all time? C'mon.

e. it's baseball. There are more than 12 games in a season. April hasn't even arrived yet.

f. Too many football fans who try to file baseball under same category.

Guilty as charged and I will still stand by that statement. I didn't predict single-digit losses, though.

If you know baseball then you should know that Pitching is almost always ahead of hitting early in the season.

I'm still FAR more concerned about our pitching than our slump with the bats. It's not like the whole team is in a slump, but three of our four best hitters surely are.

Bertccini, Bradshaw, Coleman's identity crisis = way more worried about.

I would eliminate A from the jump. Yes, baseball is unique and not always easy to pigiohold but something is definitely wrong.

If you examine last years team you will note we were a mediocre team for the first half of the season and a world beater during the second half. It was assumed, by many, that this years team would automatically pick up where last years team left off and that has not proven to be the case. They appear to be more like the team that played the first 40 games of the 2008 season.

We are not an average team but may not be as good as advertised. This team could still make us all proud but they are not the reincarnation of the 96 and 97 teams some Rantards were making them out to be after 7 games.

A.Nothing is wrong, its just baseball

Possible, but even in a normal baseball slump, something is usually wrong. It could change at any moment of course, because that's baseball.

B.Somethin's wrong, we're batting below .275 the last 12 games

Maybe we've just been facing some really good pitchers.

C.Must be the hitting coach

Way too little information for me to take a guess at this.

D.We're just an avg team, overrated from the get-go

We're probably better than an average team, but so far it seems that we were overrated going into the season, since we were ranked #1 or #2 in the polls.

Still, the turnaround that happened last season at least tells us that a slow start does not mean it's time to give up on these guys.

I think choice C is often the most missplaced blame situation in all of sports...reminds me of when Eddie Murray was fired from Cleveland...yeah, like he didn't know how to hit. A lot of that blame has to be on the head coach, trainers, and players, themselves.

I just think its out of the world expectations, i mean its like if we score 10 runs one day, we EXPECT them to score 10 runs each and every game thereafter, we never take into account the opposing teams pitchers and people don't realize that its fricking baseball and not football, where the defense (in reference to a pitcher) changes every game, unlike football and basketball where the defense are the same from game to game, and after a couple weeks you can set reasonable expectations of your team b/c there are constants in play. And with baseball there are variables w/ pitchers that change game your offensive production every game.
