As I stated he had an easy job. Doesn't make him the Mythical All-American that TD and some LSU fans turned him into over the last year. He got benched because he showed in the Bama game to be the same QB as before and was not dependable in a less than coddling situation.

You're not giving enough credit where credit is due. JL inherited the starting job a week before the season which began with Oregon (away), rent-a-win (home), State (away on short week), WVU (away). Nothing "coddling" about that. Moreover, his timely passes were a key component to our O's success last year.

Was he "coddled" in the Swamp in '10 on the last drive? Was he "coddled" vs Bama in '10 when he had to fill in on 3rd and 13 in the 4th? He certainly wasn't coddled in '08.

No reason to speak pejoratively of JL as the "Mythical All-American." Tiger fans appreciate that although he was booed worse than any Fr player in our history, he chose to stay and fill in as needed.

This parting thought: how many losses (reasonably speaking) would we have had the last two seasons without him?

Eventhough Mett still has room to grow he is much better than those two guys as a QB.

I don't see Mett being much better than jj or lee. Lee played great and our offense could do some damage with Lee. Last year he played very well until Alabama. JJ's mobility saved us some too. Mett has one thing on both of them and that is he is not afraid to get hit. The truth is..... TM7 carried us last year and we could have easily lost 2-3 games with out him. Offense has been sputtering since miles won in 07 with Sabans recruits. Every year since 07 it has been a variation of the same bad offense.

Where does the OP state Lee is, was, or could have been an All American? This is not thread about Lee so why bring him up?

coddling situation.

It's funny that you mention coddling and not mention the other qb

I'd agree with that even though lee played better in the first 6 games than Mett has

Although, a majority of Mett's problems haven't been his fault at all with poor o line play and even worse wide receivers.

Because he threw two picks in one game?

That's pretty crazy to bench your starter for two turnovers in one game.

If that's the case, Jefferson should have never played either and Hilliard this year should have been benched.

so LSU's offensive ineptness is YOUR fault?? i mean, self-fulfilling prophesy, right?

If you believe that me as a fan or the shared view of fans about the ineptitude of the offense affects the players and coaches opinions of the offense, then sure, my or our opinions could be contributing factors to the problem.

What say you?
The post is a difficult to read crock of shite with flower petals thrown on top.

Lee was more than capable as a senior QB, but likely lost his confidence as Jefferson increased his snap count every game

Lee was fine until facing Bama. The excuse of losing confidence is bullshite.
Lee had excellent games with over 70% completions while sharing passing duties with JJ.

I was on record to friends and family as saying that I hoped that terrible offense was a Jefferson/Miles issue and not a Miles issue.

Some points for you about the history of LSU Football.
2011 is 2nd to 2007 in scoring Offensive TDs
2011 is #5 in Total Offensive YPG.
quote:

Offensively, I haven’t seen this since Lee was the clear starter at the beginning of the 2011 season (i.e. Oregon, West Virginia.

In 2011 the Tigers greatest offensive production actually came vs #5 Arkansas, in fact, the 3 highest total O efforts were WKU, UM, UA, and QBed by you know who, the one you prefer less.

I preferred Lee to Jefferson
Quite evident, but you chose the QB with the least favorable career stats in practically every category. Both were Tigers and both tried their hardest. Neither deserve to still be shat on since they are no longer part of the equation.
quote:

I don’t think I’ve seen it since 2007. I further believe that our superior defense during that time and winning on defense in spite of our offense has enabled this type of thinking and perpetuated poor offensive expectations and production.
The defense has been Grade A in '11, Grade B in '10, C in '09 and barely a D- in '08. There's no long history of great D since '07 and that is just dumb.
This season I give the defense an A-,and the offense is decimated with OL injuries and receivers with the drops.
There is no type of thinking by staff which perpetuates poor offensive production.
LSU is attempting about 25 passes per game and trying to open up the offense.
If the WR's had caught just half of their drops, LSU would be undefeated and you would look like an idiot for writing this post.
