Offense Observation

Bottom line, Les had his chances and I'd still like to see him go. Love the quirky MoFo, just never enjoyed him as a HC. The following statement still falls on Les' shoulders- so please no proLes/PosiTiger accusations- when LSU (under Miles) has a ProStyle QB, such as Elting in the 2nd quarter this week or Mett 2nd 1/2 Jr yr & entire SR year, this offense is amazing. It's hard to see so many hate a 20 year old kid, judge him/tear him apart- when he doesn't fit the system. I'm over 2 TE sets and only 2 WOs, but Les isn't lying, the scheme works if the players can execute. I could watch Mett or LSU's 2nd quarter performance this past week for the next 10 years, but you have to have the ProStyle Pocket Passer who can read progressions, plant the feet, and make the throws. More importantly, when you have LF7 and DG5 you have to be able to use the pass to setup the run (2013 Jeremy Hill).
After reading, have no real reason to post- so I'll start the down vote, but be honest, this offense works with the right personnel...

I think there is some merit to what you are saying. This style of offense can be effective, but it does require some football IQ from the quarterback position. The ability to make good reads/decisions/progressions is needed. The use of play-action would also be a great help to this offense, particularly with the amount of respect defenses must show our formidable running backs. Now I know this is stating the obvious, but play-action is way more effective on 1st and 10 then it is on 3rd and 9. Got to be less conservative and toss it around on 1st down every now and then. Maybe 25% of the time instead of the 5% we've been seeing.

You're not wrong. This past Thursday night the Denver Broncos used parts of this offense to take down the Panthers with a QB making his first NFL start.
They even put one in the end zone with the fullback.
