No more Daniels means it's imperative we find a great running game ASAP!

I know some will not agree with me, but IMO, Daniels was a once-in-a-lifetime QB and we're going to see just how valuable he was as the season goes along. How often can you get a QB that can throw accurately and also run like the wind? Yes, we had two great receivers, but Daniels' best weapon was his legs and it totally changed how opposing teams played us and we don't have that this year. If Daniels played against USC, we win going away.
This season my biggest concern is Nuss is not a runner, so until we establish a running game, teams are going to drop more men in coverage and force him to make a lot of throws and I'm not sure Nuss is good enough. Although much improved, Nuss still has that gun slinger attitude and that could get us in a lot of trouble.
I think it goes without saying, but we have to have a great running game or it could be a long year. Yes, Nuss did play well against a tough USC defense, but if we don't improve running the ball, he's going to have to play almost perfect every game and that's a lot to ask for any QB, especially a first-year starter.

Nuss has to tuck the ball and run a few times to keep the defense honest. Part of the reason Daniels had such success is because his ability and willingness to run kept defenses off balance. I realize Nuss is no Daniels but he has to use his legs a bit to give us a chance against good defenses.
