There are a lot of things that can be questioned about his game, but this isn't one of them.

Absolutely false. Go back and watch some of the big time throws he made against Arkansas.

he doesnt have a strong enough arm to make up for his slow delivery, at least not in the NFL

theres no question about that

"There are teams that JJ could play on."

Absolutely. The Swahbucklers. He can split time with Russell. Neither one can read defenses. Ask Oakland.

"Which NFL draft experts? Can you be specific. He's got a slow dropback, a slow delivery, can't read defenses and isn't a student of the game. He does not have an NFL caliber arm. Hell he can't even throw a 15 yard down and out unless he's rolling to that side."

You can add to that:
1) he has no idea how to run play action
2) no leadership skills...none

I'm not sure anyone has a strong enough arm to make up for a slow release.

Russell had a pretty slow release and has arguably the strongest arm ever.

He will probably get a shot as an undrafted F/A. I don't see that as a less of a chance than getting drafted in the 7th round. Depends how he does at the combines/Pro days. I think he has been too Crowtonized to make it but stranger things have happened.

Yes. I'll be sure to add that to you're other false flaws in his game.

Trying to look at this objectively: -JJ has a lot of raw, physical tools the NFL likes (good arm, great size, athleticism) -His decision making can best be described as "questionable" -He has a protracted release, which hurts his chances. -He's not an overly accurate passer (completion % is one thing, ball placement, entirely another) -NFL offenses are looking more and more for guys that can run at the QB position, so that increases his value. My stance coming into the year was that he had little to no chance to be drafted. I think that was partially shaded by my own frustrations with his enigmatic play (up and down, up and down) over the course of his career. I do think he will be drafted, mostly because he's "toolsy" as baseball analysts would say. I don't feel like he has any realistic chance to be a great pro, though.

Hey Dan it almost pains me to tell you but I agree 100% with your objective assesment!!LOL

He may get drafted as a project but would think they would have to do alot of technique work before he saw the field!

JJ is tough enough and athletic enough to play in the NFL...but not as a QB...he's definitely draft material...I would take him strictly on his toughness, mentally and physically...there is a place for him in the league...but not as QB...his vision and slow decision-making preclude that!

that's actually one of his better attributes as a passer

I see him getting some Matt Jones type of shot in the league.

I agree. He has tools, but his game is really flawed, it's hard to foresee him becoming anything noteworthy in the NFL.

Unless, of course, Miles coaches him. Because then he'd start him over Tom Brady cause he loves him so much.
