Any one know?
The reason I ask, I got this dance card from the mid-20's from the L Club dance. It has a list of the members the back, and places for the lady to write down who she danced with that night.
The back is messed up due to being in a scrap book:

I wonder if the "Gormley" name listed is who the Stadium St. Aug plays in.....or someone in that family.

I see a "Carriere" listed there. Might be a relative of mine.

I'm pretty sure that's Ike Carriere, later a judge in New Orleans.

That is Tad Gromley, LSU basketball coach and the person the stadium in New Orleans is named after.

I've got an L club certificate for my great-grandfather who played football in 1910-1911. I'm not sure how old it is, though, so it might've come later. Looks pretty dang old...

Based on the names on the item, it's likely 1923-24.

AT I have the year written down some where, but every year even in the early 1900's the teams would meet at the Istrouma hotel and the coach would hand out the L's to the starters.
Col Boyd was always at these meetings and always gave a nice speech.
By today's rules all the members of the early teams would have won the L, for the most part.
It's was the big event in Baton Rouge in those days, and the L dances is one outcome of the early banquets’.
L dance cards come up all the time and I have seen one on ebay form around 1915.
