Jordan Jefferson has a better arm than Lee as shown in the bowl game and in his high school championship game

The coaching staff last year didn't think he was even ready to start in the SEC over Andrew Hatch.....so what does that tell you?
very little...for one thing most RSFR aren't ready to start in the SEC, plus Lee was dinged up during fall practice and Hatch got most of the snaps. IMO, Hatch was probably given the nod because of some ability to run. If you have 2 inexperienced guys, go with the one who gives you the most options, vs. the one with the most upside.

Exactly the reason to start and play JJ over JL.
And I do think the choice of Hatch over JL is telling. You mean to tell me that a coach like Crowton, who has coached and seen good QB's, would start a guy in Hatch that he knows has NO arm over JL if he didn't know something?
He knew JL was not ready but he didn't have any other options but to play him after Hatch went down.

There you go ... we have a solution. Since Lee seems to start badly, but get better later in the game, and Jefferson starts out on fire and then peters out, we should start JJ in the 1st half and then have Lee relieve him in the second half.
Can we now end the JJ vs JL discussions until at least the fall?
I like this idea. We could do this, i also think we should try and do some multi-quarterback looks with JJ, JL & RS. That would really throw teams off.

You need the change the title on this thread to 'Another rant about Jarret Lee thread'.
To think I clicked on this thread expecting some real information about Spring practice. That is five minutes of my day
I'll never get back.

of course he knew he wasn't ready, just like Jimbo and Saban knew that Russell wasn't ready to start as a RS FR...
