I agree that this team may be the best ever after the season plays out. However, the 1997 RBs were the best: Faulk, Mealey, Collins, and Banks. Collins is still the most dominating back I have ever seen. Too bad he was dumber than a brick.
Even bad lsu teams had good talent esp at RB. Cecil was a freak and who knows what would've happened if he hadn't got hurt. Or weird. Alley Broussard had the awesomeness too at one time.

Toefield as well, I loved him and Dom Davis together...

There could certainly be a strong case made for that 06 team. Man we were hitting on all cylinders at the end of that season. We set Notre Dames program back 5 years after the beating we gave them in the Sugar Bowl! Hell they still h
2006 was frustrating bc I thought that was a NC team but it was inconsistent. Even late in the year we struggled against a bad ole miss. Then the debacles against auburn and Florida and overall sloppy play. That auburn loss was the worst for me. Still the most talented ever IMO.

Honestly I take the backfield with Faulk and Cecil. Easily.

Ford broke all of Cecil's records in HS

Cecil was an animal in that short time that he was healthy and not in trouble. I hzvent seen anything like that from Ford yet.

I'm putting my bets on Hilliard. I'm really curious who CLM picks to start off as the go to guy. He'll probably give them all a chance and see who shines.

Ware is easily comparable.... So is Hilliard, and they say Hill can potentially be the best of all of them, Kinda dumb to pass on what we have now

+1
imo, dominic davis was one of the more explosive players in lsu history. Great mixture of speed and size made for some game changing plays from the backfield and on special teams.

I remember his play in the '01 MS State game. He took that game over just on special teams.

That 01-02 team was a great team that doesnt get alot of spotlight, but man they were good, Offense and Defense both had NFL players on them

That team would get more love if Saban/Jimbo had opened up the offense sooner. It took a loss to ole miss to get things going if I recall right.

Youre forgetting just how good Faulk and Cecil were. Ware is good but not on their level. Hilliard and Hill look like studs but are still unproven.

2011 was too hindered at QB to me. I'm really shocked at how good the team was considering the QB play. It's amazing.
Outside of a few games our qb play was efficient and that's all we needed.

Not forgetting how Great Faulk was at all but also not forgetting Cecil only played 4 games at LSU, and was also unproven!!!!

Watch how much more Rushing yards he will rack up after Mett spreads out the defenses more. Kinda difficult to gain alot with 7 or 8 in the box almost every play.
